A virtual airline is a bunch of people simulating an airline using flightsimulators.
People fly set routes and get paid (usually virtually) for that. Management plan routes, keep track of income, decide on the airline fleet, etc.

Depending on how realistic you want to get, there are VAs using a pilot ranking and type certification systems.

Try www.fly-eaa.com
We are a Virtual Airline and we will be opening soon!!

Basically a VA is a group of people that "run" an airline, We hire Pilot YOU and You fly aircraft that are painted in the airlines livery. We have a fantastic livery designed by Lila Design Aviation and you fly the aircraft of your choice and then file the flight report (Often called a PIREP system) This is then added to a tally that shows the total hors that you have flown for that VA
