Your FS Most Flown Routes?

Wed Sep 25, 2002 6:56 am

For those of you who fly with the Flight Simulator, what route do you fly most? And maybe let us also know the airline and aircraft used.

My base is always FRA. Most flown international route must be FRA-JFK-FRA for me.
I used to fly it with a Lufthansa 747-200 but then I replaced it by an A340.
The most flown Domestic route for me is FRA-MUC on a Lufthansa 737-300 or A320. I sometimes flew that route up to five times in a row to have a real feeling of turn arounds... Always waiting one hour... I'm a freak  Big thumbs up

Hope this is not boring for you all:

In the past, it was always PHX-LAX then LAX-PHX (time - 0:55) on a CRJ/ AA ERJ.

Next was the frequent JFL-LHR and LHR-JFK on various aircraft, which includes the VS A340-600 and the BA Concorde.

Now, it's fully international.

I'm not often flying routes, because i have not enough time...

When i'm flying, then mostly domestic VIE-INN .... the add-scenery for the airport in the middle of the alps is great! You can also see the wastepaperbaskets (!!) on the viewing deck of the airport... Very very nice.

I´d always fly it with an Tyrolean Airways F-70 or CRJ-100/200.

Well, this may bore you all, and is not at all glamorous, but Lawrence, KS to Maryville, MO (about 100 miles) in a J-3 Cub. If I'm in a hurry, a C182RG. When I have more time to play with, I'll take the Cessna to Denver or Dallas. Very rarely, I'll fly some routes in a Connie from the old Downtown airport in Kansas City.

Definitely MBJ-MIA-MBJ, using an a320 and most recently JM A310. In future it might be KGN-MBJ-KMCO.

Do you all fly the long-haul flights real time or do you use a higher simulation rate? I really dont know what I prefer, I suppose real time is more real and therefore better, but sometimes I just dont have enough time to do it real time.
I fly AKL-LAX rtn quite often (Air NZ 744).

After I reached 10.000 feet I let the autopilot take over at simulation rate 4. I don't have enough time to let the plane go for 8 or so hours (FRA-JFK).
On short flights like FRA-MUC I sometimes fly realtime and when it has to go fast I'll also speed up a little...

Godbless: I've done that. I've flown LH422 (FRA-BOS) using a 747-400 on 4x simuation. I sat in front of my computer for 2.5 hours while that thing crossed the Atlantic. I was so afraid I'd crash on landing!

Usually, I like to fly:

YUL-LHR (AC A330)
YUL-YYZ (AC A320)
YUL-BOS (AC CRJ)
BOS-ORD (AA MD-90)
BOS-FLL (AA MD-90)
MIA-DFW (AA MD-11)

On Atlantic and Pacific flights, I quadruple the sim rate to 4x. To avoid (ok, not insulting LH423) "I was so afraid I'd crash on landing!", I set sim rate back to normal so that I can monitor for abnormalities.

As for realism for me, everything will follow that rule EXCEPT for flight time that spans more that it takes for you to eat lunch, hence the preferred Sim: [4x] setting.

SFO-TPE, TPE-SFO, TPE-HKG, HKG-TPE usually using EVA 744 or CI 744.

The most stupidest thing that I have done is that I did the two-polar flight that SAA was promoting last year. I can't never fly the route less than 62 hours with a flight time of about 56 hours.

My favourite routes are Zurich-Lugano, Zurich-Venice on a Swiss A330. I agree the routes are too short for an A330-200 but I really like the mountain sceneries. My fixation on Zurich is because I love Switzerland and Zurich's my favourite city.

My favourite: HKG (Kai Tak) to Macao and back, with different types of B744. The 48°-turn into HKG is great. Especially when FSsimulation with strong wind-component. Also nice is HAJ-RIO-HAJ with Air Canada A340-600 by ProMax: I know, makes no sense, but it´s fun. But of course with 4x rate. Don´t have 12hrs to spend.

I notice a lot of you use the 4x simulation rate. I've found on a number of occasions, that when I reset to normal simulation rate for landing after flying 4x for more than 30 minutes, the aircraft still behaves as if it is in 4x simulation. For example, the airspeed drops or increases as fast as it would in 4x simulation when the power is adjusted.

Have any of you experienced that?

I used to do YVR-AMS or AMS-YVR with KLM 767's and 747's. Or YVR-YYZ and YYZ-YVR with CP DC-10's and 767's.

Now, however, I have a job, and I'm doing my real pilots licences, so theres less time for the simulator. It actually helps a lot with real IFR training, but not as good when it comes to actual hands on flying.

Since I deleted all AI that comes with FS I'm trying to stick to places that I built up a large PAI fleet.

The most flights are from CGN to the Canary Islands
(ACE, LPA, TFS). I take Condor 757-300, LTU 757-200 or
Air Berlin 737-800.

From Airport 2000 I often use the Flight Adventures
AMS to BCN with 737 of KLM or ATL to MIA with 737
of USAir.

This may sound funny, but it's a lot of fun.

What I do for my routes is make like a trillionaire, take my different jets all over the world, and go visit someone important, like the president or friends/relatives. I have "designed" most of my larger aircraft (737+) to actually hold my helicopter inside by means of an aft cargo door. That way, after I land I can take the chopper for a spin and do some site-seeing.

Most flown routes would include...(I'm based out of the Southwest) destinations like Las Vegas, Rome, London, Madrid, Moscow, Washington DC, Seattle, Portland, all along the California coast (checking the many oil rigs I own...hehehe.....), Bahamas- Tahiti, Bora Bora, etc., Cuba, Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and many many more. Everyday when I get home from school, I just pick a destination, load up the jet, and work while it's flying, and by the time my mind needs a break or I'm done, I've arrived.

I think it's a good plan-works for me, and you never run out of destinations. I fly on my own schedule, not like an airline's, although sometimes I'll fly charter flights or shuttle/ferry flights, or just throw all my friends on a plane and head out to paradise for a week!!

Hi,

Do you have Micro$oft Flight Simulator? We use that computer game software to fly flights.

Hello,

in FS98 I usually flew LZIB-VHHH-LZIB (A343)
in FS2000 the most flown route was KJFK-KLAX (PIC763) and LZIB-VHHH (A343).

Now, unfortunately, my FS wont install, and thus I have decided to wait for A340 Experience. If that arrives as planed (2nd quater of 03) than I will restart my FS flights. KEWR-EDDM, and EDDF-RJAA are few flights which I plan to fly.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Cheers,

Andrej L.
