I have the normal version. It was bought for me as a present..... Checked the properties and it just states FS9... It downloadned no problem after 1 2 hr download last night.... All auto installed from the patch into FS9...

I can 100% confirm it works..... I had a flight that i was trying to do from Cardiff to Cork in a Tu 154. BUT whenever i tried to land at Cork as soon as i got my landing instructions the computer crashed !!!! Just tried it with the new patch and it worked like a dream with no problems. At last i made it to Cork... Yiiiipppppiiii !!!!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

The added bridges are good since it adds visual elements to use when landing at airports. I am disappointed that the bridges in the Tampa Bay area (esp. the Sunshine Skyway Bridge) was not added. The Skyway is used as a visual cue when inbound on the Bridge Arrival.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if you tried to update the english FS9 with the German FS9 update? Would it be half english, half German?

Thanks

It's probably a good idea to read the "read me" file and the stuff on the fs home page before installing. It covers several possible things that can go wrong and
how to deal with them.

I upgraded FSUIPC before installing..and voila..no problems

I have the FSUIPC problem too. It says certain aircraft will not work then crashes to desktop. Fortunately I know which aircraft it is. Unfortunately it is the PMDG 737 series, so I restored my FS from backup for now.

On the Microsoft website, they mention that you can expect troubles with the patch if you have installed add-ons since the clean installation (FSUIPC,Active Camera,...), the FS9.exe has been modified etc etc...

Since I happen to be in that case (PMDG 737NG, FSUIPC, Active Camera, Ultimate Traffic, Aerosoft payware scenery etc. etc. ...) I think I'm going to pass for this patch. I'm just to worried my FS 2004 will become much more of a mess áfter the patch...

I'm going to have to argree. If I could tough it out for a year, another year shouldn't be that hard. Long live the add-ons!

I havnt seen any problems with , Altitude Concorde, Kittyhawk 738, All meljet, aerodesigns, active camera, or any of the ifdg series, along with the opensky 757. Plus in the main FS9 folder, there is an uninstall for the patch.

I too upgraded to the latest version of FSUPIC before installing the patch as well as restoring the original Fs9.exe (I was using the no cd hack Fs9.exe) and I have had no problems whatsoever.

The readme for the patch is excellent listing down things you should check/do before you decide to install.

The latest version of FSUPIC is 3.40. On the FSUPIC website, it says that 3.40 will work with the patch...and it does.

I have noticed that after installing, my framerates have improved! I think the patch is a must have. If it doesn't work out, you can always uninstall it.

Well, if the patch has an uninstall function ánd if it works properly, then there's no harm in giving it a try (after carefully reading the MS recommendations for e.g. Active Camera and FSUIPC).

Concerning the PMDG 737 NG, I've read on their forum that at least some customers are experiencing difficulties with the EICAS and FMC after running the patch, but this could be due to their personal system settings.

Still, my system seems to be running fine. Within a couple of weeks or so, maybe I'll consider running the patch.

And, the FSUIPC website is www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.

Ivan

I have noticed since I installed the patch that my game tends to crash during flight a lot more, and yes I do have a fair few add-ons.

Would it be better if I did a complete reinstall of the basic FS2004, then reinstalled the patch, THEN the add-ons? or would it still crash my flights?

This is extremely frustrating because I was just 9 hours into a flight from London to Seychelles, about an hour from landing and I switched to a different view and it just died on me!

Help!

Well it seems im the only one without any problems..... (makes a change)

I have plenty of freewear (aircraft, airports, flightplans). And plenty of paywear Ultimate Traffic , British Vols 1-5..... And everything runs fine. No crashes,i also have the new bridges etc etc so i know its all installed.....

But what i don't have is this active camera thing your all talking about. Maybe thats the problem ????
