Airline Memorabilia

Sun Jul 31, 2005 2:04 am

Hi all,

I have decided to start collecting some airline memorabilia, especially emergency instructions leaflets and baggage tags.
Could anyone tell me how can I obtain them?

Thanks,

Uzi

Is there an option to send a request to the PR department of airlines to get some of this stuff?

Salom!
Try an ebay search under safety cards and you will find several items that you are interested in. You can also make searches under specific names such as ELAL, Lufthansa, Olympic - Safety Cards.
We have at least two members on this forum who are active sellers.
Cheers!

Hey An225, your getting into a great hobby! Yes, email or write a letter to the airline and ask if they have any thing they can give you, brochures, pictures, and such. It's worth a try. Also, go to antique malls, they have alot of stuff there that is usually in really good condition. I get alot of playing cards from them, TWA, American, and such, all of which are unopened. Good luck!

I have tons and tons and tons of miscellaneous timetables, luggage tags, ticket jackets, and the like from most US carriers from the 1990's.

E-bay is one of the best ways now---just be careful there is so much available you may want to keep your searches fairly narrow, a specific airline or specific aircraft or two. I wrote to the airlines PR department in the mid and again in the late 80's and got some great stuff back. I don't know how generous they are now. Some of the best were KLM, Austrian, Gulf Air and believe or not Cubana!

Good luck it's a great hobby!
