mine crashes with the updates to V6.2.10 with the very same RTE errors that were there before the updates. I of course sent them to support like the good beta tester I am.

6.2.11 gets rid of a lot of the run time errors, but there are still lots of bugs.

1. There are at least three major airports missing: Boise Gowen Field, Boston, and Washington National.

2. I had an airline started with 3 727-100, 2 727-200, and 4 707-320B (all nine aircraft leased), and when one of the 707s came up for renewal/purchase, the screen where you renew leases or purchase the aircraft listed all nine aircraft, and all of them as 707-320B. Then, after buying the aircraft, no money had been debited to my account and all nine 707s showed as owned.

3. Not all routes are showing up on the globe, and the globe itself has a tendency to roll over on its side.

Hopefully all these bugs, and any others in the game, will be fixed in the next few days. It never ceases to amaze me that EFZED can release a product in this bad of shape.

No kidding and especially after all the bragging about how they were not going to release the game untill it was READY! So what were all those delays about?

Well, in our business who'd say no to a free aircraft or two.  Wink

Interesting. I have most of my routes showing, but there is usually an oddball route that fails to show o the main screen.

I don't know, but it seems like they were adding more bells and whistles instead of testing for bugs.

Just upgraded to 6.2.11 and tried it out...

I can't express how disappointed I am with this 6.2 release....

ok venting time:

The coding for this game is well... rediculous

1> starting a game... what is that, comodore64 days? It takes over an hour on an Athlon 64 3500+ with a full gig of RAM to generate the world??? WTF!?

2> 1st time i launched the game it did all that just fine, then killed when i hit continue after the business plan?!

3> even if i do choose a partner, if i try to process the quarter "you business plan requires..." WTF!?

4> delay, you know, if it worked, i would of congradulated EFZED for finally getting it right, instead... its 3 times worse than their previous releases! Have EFZED never heard of BETA testing!?

Im trying to run it now on my laptop instead... we will see...

ok, vent over....

In 6.2... I can't seem to find the feature (that was present in 6.1) that allowed you to research the PAX demand between city-pairs.

In 6.1 it used to be in the "Reports" screen. I think the button was called "PAX Demand" or something along those lines.

Where is this feature in 6.2?!?!?!??!!??!

In addition to the problems with partnering (and missing cities, and load times), the lease and purchase operations are completely dysfunctional, so too are the timbetables, airline reports. Plus, why does the computer start out with so much more capital than the player, even on the easiest settings? While I can only run up a few leased planes to start out with, the computer runs through the first quarter with 6-10 owned.

Scheduling is a pain in the ass too, especially at the speeds the program runs.

How long have they had this two stage scheduling system? I'm pining for the old Airline 5 system. Worked just fine and allowed you to check loads much more easily.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

6.2 is the first version with this scheduling system, and with as much hype as the scheduling system received, it is a big let down. I also think the old system was better and easier to use.

30009: Invalid Row Value

It happened while I was scheduling an aircraft. I also found another airport missing, Hong Kong (HKG).

Oh yeah that right - there isn't one - another reason why I stopped purchasing the game - that and one of the moderators (on the airline simulation forums) acting like the game was the be all and end all even though the product has serious flaws.

Thats not what I would call a manual, thats a badly put together help function. Call me old fashioned but when I spend 40-50 on a game/s I like to be able to find out what the different buttons do without having to guess. Imagine PMDG released their 747 without the checklists etc.......

Yes, quite a friendly and unbiased fellow. While the game was pretty bad, I'm generally quite patient, but his attitude towards what were/are paying customers (you have to own Airline SImulation to gain access to the forums) is nothing short of appaling - I'd nearly recommend him for a public relations job with FR!!!!!!!

It takes me over an hour if I'm using all airports globally. Load times are much shorter if you choose high traffic, medium to high traffic, or international only airports and if you limit the game to one or two regions (i.e. North America with medium to high traffic airports).

I also do not have a problem with the product. Just the crap that comes along with a release.

Seems to happen with every Airline release. You would have though that with over 4 years experience you would have been able to sort this out?

Quoting SJC>SFO (Reply 44):
Sorry, Ouboy79, but that's ridiculous. There are literally dozens of errors that we're all encountering, and every time I send efzed one they send me a quick fix - and making the customer do half the grunt work just isn't right. This product is terrible.

If other software companies can get it right then I can;t see whay Efzed can;t. I mean, you don;t go out and buy a PS2 game with run errors!

I love the product when it works. unfortunately as there is no real competition in the market for this product, then I can see Efzed getting away with it time and time again.

well ezfed doesn't have nearly the same number of programmers and budget that Sony has for its game system, but still some of these run-time errors are trivial in that it's probably just one character that is missing in the program

OK people, since I started this thread I'll make some comments.

First, there a numerous important airports missing in this release! Adding to those already mentioned above, Brussels, London Luton, Bangalore, Rome Fiumicino, Birmingham, Bangkok, Barcelona, Brasilia, and so on...

And what's up with this bunch of Sea Plane airports with some wierd Codes. Where did they come up with that? Go figure!!!!!!! Bombay Sea Plane! Please!!!!!

Secondly, the Scheduling system doesn't work!! I've tried many time and nothing! I keep getting Time clashes and Run time errors 3009 when linking schedules with the aircraft. The timetable is just busted!!! According to the game's so called manual (F1) the table is supposed to get a pink color on the cells where there is a schedule flight, but mine only gets green and with the stupid "time clash" pop ups!!! ahhr!!!! That's REALLY frustrating!!!!!!!!!! If I can't simply schedule a flight, how am I supposed to begin playing??? So far no action for me at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are also other things such as the looong loading times, plain scenarios and misplaced photos, showing different aircrafts from the ones discribed!! It's a complete lack of attention!!!!

Now folks, I have to say what is my current evaluation of this game!!!!

It SUCKSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good thing they offer a forum for the customers to get together and share their experiences (good and bad). Would really suck if a customer felt that he was alone in the wilderness, stuck with a bad product.

But with the forums, you can log on and be reminded by the moderator(s) (Bwob - looks great in a cheerleader outfit!) that all is ok, and the tech support staff will have your 6.2 running smooth in no time.

(Shucks, if it wasn't for the forums... er, I mean, this substitute forum here, I might have actually wasted my time and downloaded 6.2.08/09/10/11/12 so far.)

Ah unreliable software, and the forums are closed for 'maintenance'.

Yeh, like.

Oh please, your just hiding Efzed, hiding from the truth that your software is possibly the WORST program that I have ever downloaded thats actually got the green light (how I will never know).

Hiding from us will only make us angrier, not that we could ever share the problems of 6.2 anyway openly, as we would be attacked by the moderators (mainly Bwob, or DFW). Sure freedom of speech is different where the forums hosted, but surely its not hosted in North Korea!

I call for Efzed to pull 6.2 for the time being and allow us to downgrade to 6.1 and give us 6.2 when it is finally ready.

Ive been meaning to vent that for a while.

They spent a just about an extra year on 6.2. What makes you think it will be any better if they spend even more time. And chances are if that happened it would take yet another year.

If they spent another year on it they will probably call it 6.3, and then charge you for a new game. 6.1 was released before it was ready (an in reality it was just a (poorly) glossed over version of 5. And as for the forums, unless your singing their praises they jump on you and become iverall not very nice.

The annoying part is that the game has alot of potential and hjust when they seem to be making good progress they announce a new version, and the cycle starts all over again.

I think this may well be the end of "Airline". The existing customer base certainly won't be pushing any money into the company anytime soon, and the game clearly has a great deal of work to become even minimally functional. New users are going to be demanding their money back when they find that the software they purchased *doesn't work*.

The great thing about Airline was that it was the first simulation game which paid attention to real fundamentals and constraints in the world of running an airline. Unfortunately, they've added so many bells and whistles - which, I'd like to add, are not only disfunctional, but really not that impressive from a players standpoint - that they've been distracted from the strengths of the game, which have fallen to shambles.

6.2.13 is out, although I haven't installed the game yet so I have no idea of the problems. It's 6 odd mb so it might be able to solve some of the problems. All of these problems must be sent to [email protected] to get them fixed! Please do so and hopefully we will have the game fixed sooner.

All of these problems must be sent to [email protected] to get them fixed! Please do so and hopefully we will have the game fixed sooner.

Nowhere in my purchase of Airline did I ever agree to be a de-facto beta tester. I have much better things to do with my time than screw around with software that doesn't do anything it is supposed to. The only way I would ever be a tester for Airline is if they pay me $$$$, and even then I would need to think about it long and hard. Sorry to go off on you like this, but that is exactly how I feel.

RE: Airline 6.2 Release Date?

Well,

After trying to schedule a flight at 22:05 i got a Run-Time error. I think it was when the flight was overlapping onto the next day.

As this error occured, i never got very far but in the previous games the following errors have occured:

1. Aircraft has duplciated many times after the first quarter
2. There are only passneger numbers in the single digits when i know this should not be the case.

Thanks
Mike
