BBC Series Featuring BA From Early 90s?

Sun Jul 23, 2006 10:51 pm

There was a 4-part BBC program shown on USA PBS in the early 1990s featuring British Airways and 747 flight from LHR to Sydney, Delta Air Lines, BA/Lord King, etc.

I've been trying to find the specifics of this series but have had little to no luck. I think it was called "Airline".

Any help would be great. Bittorrent? DVDs, etc.

Airline is a documentary type show in England on EasyJet just showing behind the scenes of an airline.

There is a programme here in the UK called Airport which doesn't specify in any in perticular airline, just airports, mainly London-Gatwick. This may of included something on BA.

Unfortunetly this isnt avalable on DVD but if I ever come across it, I will Sky+ it, put it on a DVD and somehow get it to you. There is a very slim chance I will come across it but I will have a look!

Quoting BradWray (Reply 1):

It is based in LHR, not LGW!

You can see it on UKTV-G2. Two episodes are shown Monday - Friday at 4pm until 5pm.

I know the programme you mean, but I am still trying to think of the name. The airline featured a lot was about American and DFW, not Delta I think, and also the ceremony handing over the first 2 744s at Seattle. Also I remember the bit about the B.A wine selector who got to travel around tasting different wines in flight, and had a load of champagne thrown away in Dubai I think !

Perhaps it was Airline? But before Airline UK featured easyJet, they featured Britannia Airways. That would explain the name, but not the 747's and airlines.
