Anyone Here Run A VA?

Sun Nov 12, 2006 5:57 am

Just curious who on here ran or was involved in a Virtual Airline? I am interested in learning more about it.

What do you mean by 'involved'? I'm a pilot for one if thats what you're asking. Quite a few of us on here are associated with one or more. Drop me a PM if you want to know more and stuff about VA's.

I sent you an IM on a.net so be looking for it.

Being a pilot counts as "involved."  Big grin

Hey, I run SlipStream Airways (slipstreamairways.com). Right now we are going with the low cost carrier scenario but stedily building the fleet. Right now our fleet is composed of 717-200, 737-700, 737-800, and the 757-200. Our liveries were completely made from scratch and it took us 2 years to put togeather everything so its pretty sound. If you have any questions email me at [email protected] Thank you!

Let me just say you have an awesome website and an excellent looking VA! I will definitly think about joining in the next few weeks, but I would like to see more of the operational side of things first. Is there any way you can send me something?

I'm "COO" i.e. #2 at MetroAir - we pride ourselves on realism, following real-world economic and market shifts, and making decisions based almost purely on financials. Many in our management have real-world aviation business experience.

I used to run Pittsburgh Air, but that was just pitiful. I was Aircraft Developer at SimAirline.net, but I retired recently, so now I'm just a pilot.

I used to run West Express Airways...I had a lot of great ideas but I just never had the time or the right team to get it up and running the way I wanted to. Still interested at some point but it's just too much work to do alone...

Great VAs those of you who have them. I myself am interested in joining one. The hard part is choosing one.  spin

It all depends on what you want. If you want the highest possible realism, pick Metro or as I have found out Slipstream is very real too. You may want to fly any plane, any time, any where, then you pick AFA or Altair or Eastern. Avsim has a great place you can look up almost any VA and hsving a look around VATSIM may also show you the serious ones.

Hope I've helped slightly. Also, you can be in more than one. Most only require you to fly every month so even if you only fly once every few days then you can still fly for both.
