Took G-VRED to Shanghai (PVD/ZSPD) from Heathrow (LHR/EGLL). Admittedly I was sleeping for about half the flight!

Unfortunately, thanks to the 10 hours' flying time thus far the buffer had gone for any replays so I couldn't get any landing shots. Very frustrating - it was a PERFECT landing. Bang on the centreline, -30fpm descent rate at touchdown. A real greaser.

Here are some pics from my first flight in a long time. I suffered through the FS2004/XFire bug and spent two weeks of uninstalling and reinstalling, tweaking video drivers and even a total OS reload until I learned that others were having the same problems and it was caused by XFire. This was a flight from ACK to PWK (Palwaukee/Chicago Executive in Wheeling, IL) using the Dreamwings E170. I am using the house livery until I complete my own private bizjet repaint.  Smile

This flight had some interesting moments. Coming across Lake Michigan into PWK, ATC had me turn back and fly towards Michigan. When I crossed land into Michigan, I cancelled my IFR and refiled. ATC turned me around towards PWK but again, shortly later they turned me back towards Michigan. I cancelled my IFR again and did a visual approach into PWK. PWK tower cleared me to land on Rwy 34, which is the big runway, and where did I land? Nope. not on 34 but rather 30. I noticed this too late and landed on the taxiway sized runway. Hey, it was my first flight in a while...that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

The ACK scenery is freeware and is on AVSIM, the ai controlled airplanes and models are provided by a variety of sources, including Ultimate Traffic and the Ultimate GA crew.

Thanks, your shots are superb as always.  Smile I thought I had more shots tonight, I was flying from my last destination, Palwaukee to Eagle County Regional Airport and at about 175 miles out, FS9 crashed. I went back to review the screenshots that I took, but the folder was empty. I had my screenshot program running, but nothing saved for some reason...or I might have been hitting the wrong button.

I have two series of flights coming up that should produce some great screenshots....I will be flying in Nepal and then in Russia...it has been about a year since I did flying in Russia and I have added in a lot of new ai to the Russian skies to check out.

Today I took my Dreamwings E170, fresh out of the paintshop (not sure if I like my paintjob just yet), for a flight. I flew from Palwaukee (KPWK) to Montreal (CYUL), as I start my flight from Chicago to Europe. I have two series of pics, the first one is of my aircraft at various points in the flight and the second series will be of some of the ai controlled aircraft that I spotted along the way. The weather in Montreal when I landed..well it was bad and I relied on my instruments to land, usually I like landing manually.

and now the ai controlled aircraft shots, models mostly by Aardvark, EvolveAI, FSPainter, ProjectAI and Henry Tomkiewicz. Of special note, the ERJ135 American Eagle repaint is my own and in available in the ProjectAI library.  Smile

Your repaint looks a little like UA's old colors- looks nice. Are you planning to release it on avsim or flightsim?

No I do not plan on releasing my repaint, it is my personal bizjet.  Smile I got the bulk of the flight plans off of the ProjectAI forums a long time ago. Since then, they have been removed from their forums. The plans are mostly for the US and have very little activity outside of the US, but the plans that I got had plans for Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard & NASA. The pic of the 2 CAF F18s was from a package on AVSIM. The CAF C130 is from a World of AI package. There are some military packages on ProjectAI, mostly the C17 and KC135 variety, but there are some Marines and Navy DC9s, Air Force 737-700s and others.

My ontime performance isn't really great lately. This time, I arrived about 1 hour and 6 minutes late, despite the ontime pushback. Departure was delayed by traffic in LGW though. Anyway, this was not just my last flight of 2006, but also my last longhaul of 2006.

Airline: Virgin Atlantic Airways
Aircraft: Boeing 747-4Q8 (G-VHOT, Tubular Belle)
Flight number: VS63
Departure Airport: London/Gatwick Airport, Japan (LGW/EGKK)
Destination: La Habana/José Martí International Airport, Cuba (HAV/MUHA)
Departure time: 09:30
Arrival time: 14:20

Happy New Year to all! My original flightplan was from YYR to GOH (Nuuk, Greenland) but at about 13 miles out from GOH I realized that the runway was only 3000ft and not long enough for my E170 (I should've looked at FSNavigator earlier to spot this), so I diverted to SFJ, which was deserted, my timetables showed that Air Greenland flew the DHC7 and A330 in there, but it was empty. Maybe when I fly out I can spot the DHC7 which I do not see much in my ai sky. Not much ai was spotted on this flight, which is not surprising since I am so far north now. My next flight will take me into Iceland.
