It looks like it can be used in the US...I should say, I see no reason why it wouldn't. They don't mention anything about that on their brochures or manuals or anything. It looks cool, and it even provides photos from none other than a.net.

Yeah $899 One time Payment
same as UK £469 or Europe € 699 So yeah pretty damn expensive. But real time tracking capability!

Does it mention a 5 minute delay for security? Their Live Flight Tracker has it.

I was under the impression that the box itself will give you live information of local traffic (by receiving and decoding the aircraft's transponder transmissions) and that the internet connection is only needed to give you information about traffic elsewhere. I also assumed you only need to pay the subscription if you want a feed of traffic from elsewhere. Have I got that right?

You have to have good line-of-sight and that seems to be a drawback considering the location I'm in.

I have and it simply works great! No delay at all - real-time data shown and yes it works here in Florida. Much better than the usual ASDI / web based tracker sites.
Have a look at some screen shots at their screen shot forum:

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, how far are you from the airport which you're receiving data?

I was 30 miles away. It receives live data up to a range of 300 NM and delayed 5 minute data for any other box being used all over the world. ( the advantage of the system is that you are able to see data received by any other box as it works in networked mode).

Same idea as the SBS-1 box from Kinetics, and yes it's very cool.

The problem is the USA is the number of aircraft that are ADS-B equipped. It's a small percentage (around 5-10%) max. New aircraft are generally equipped, and some fleets, but it'll be 5-10 years before it's anything like Europe.

It's only better than the other tracking sites if you are in Europe, otherwise in the USA you're missing over 90% of the flights... agreed for the <10% it's great.

Yes, it does track military and foreign aircraft, as long as they are ADS-B or MODE-S equipped.

300nm is pushing it a little.... 200nm for sure, 300nm on a good day for a high altitude. Line of sight at 20,000ft is around 200 miles, 30,000ft is 250 miles approx... or something like that.

Seems really cool. Is it set up with audio as well, or is it just radar? So, if the network is extensive, you could see 5mn delayed traffic around the country?

Is there any change two or more users to exchange data via indivudual server?
