Just Planes Part 4

Thu Dec 13, 2007 10:20 pm

Sorry guys I had to start a new one...takes forever for the 3rd thread to load up....anyway who ordered the DC-6 from Everetts? if so has anyone got it and watched it yet? I ordered it a little while ago...looks great! I'm thrilled that some of the Alaska carriers are willing to participate with JP. Makes for some interesting footage....can't wait to see more! Another company I was thinking about was Airnet, they fly freight around the US in Caravans, Lear 35's barons, navajos etc...would make for an interesting video....alright thats it from me! Take care! -Josh

JP is being awfully quiet. I think the airport dvd will be released in January, due to the fact the Website states that the 19th is the last day they are taking orders  Sad

Jp!

Any chance of seeing a E-Jet video next year? I would love to see one of those?

Also I know its probably impossible but any chance of Emirates or Etihad ever making an appearance?

Thanks

I think it is safe to say Emirates will never be in the series... Etihad, probably not...
but its best not to speculate on future releases and aircraft types and/or airlines... I can't release any information about them anyway until we officially announce them... however I can confirm that Friday we will be announcing an interesting Airport DVD... so tune in  Smile

Yes indeed... we have taken the last orders for the year and are getting them all out by Friday... so what is left for me is to wish everyone here a safe a lovely holiday. I think this past year (our 17th) has been our most amazing as far as interesting World Air Routes titles.
The Alaska 737-200 will likely end the year as the top seller, even though its not been out that long... I've never mentioned this but a 20 minute version of it has been playing on board all Alaska flights for the last 2 months already... kinda cool! if I say so myself.. hahaha
Oasis ranks up there in the Top 3 I believe... once again a fantastically nice/small airline that went out of our way for us... I mean who takes a 747 up just for us to take some video of it... hello  Smile The pilots who participated on the DVD were also superb... but pretty much every airline we filmed or released in 2007 was great and very interesting...

If anyone has any questions... I'll be around. We have a warehouse inventory coming up next week... and counting more than 100,000 DVDs is a lot of fun... but please don't ask me if the Singapore Airlines A380 or All Nippon B787 will be joining the series because you will be wasting your time... As always new titles will be announced on the Friday they are being released... I will however say that we have another 5 slots in the first few months of 2008 to re-run sold out titles... so some will be pleased with that...
That's it for now... once again enjoy the holidays!

I really like the first half of the Oasis DVD which is all I have watched so far. Alaska is good too. Austrian 777 is one of my favourites though. I really hope we see more of Austrian in the coming moths/years.

As far as the new airport DVD is concerned - I saw an add in Airliner World for Mumbai airport. Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. When will this be available in the UK JP? I won't be able to get it for Christmas but I'll certainly treat myself to it in the new year.

Have a great Christmas everyone by the way.

Oasis Hong Kong and Austrian 777 are two of my favorites from the past year. Both had fantastic crews, great information, and fascinating destinations.

Looking forward to many more great WAR DVDs in 2008!

Good guess.  Smile

I have not watched that many of the airport DVDs but am just starting to get into them. They are easier to watch in the evening before bed than the WAR DVDs. I have HK, AMS and FRA, can anyone recomend any other good ones?

It's interesting why Austrian and Swiss, two of the big airlines in Europe, will work with you but Lufthansa, BA etc won't. Is it just the different plicies/attitudes of the airlines that makes them say yes or no to you?

KLM cittyhopper has worked with you but I'm guessing it's unlikely we will see the full KLM airline featured.

Or do some airlines say yes but just turn out to be difficult and not people you want to work with and you say no?

Am I right in saying that government and airport filming restriction play a big part too? I remember you saying how difficult it was to get premission to film Spicejet. I assume if it was easier to film in say India and SE Asia then we might see a lot more DVDs from there.

BTW JP, thanks for continually answering our questions on these forums. It's really good to be able to speak to the people who make these films and get a bit more of an inside view. I for one really appriciate it.  Smile

To be honest.. not soon... Reason is Sobelair was one of the airline that was selling our DVDs on board so we had to make much larger quantities than normal so it will be a while, to say the least, before those have moved and we can consider "DVDing" the other program...

Finally getting to watch the DVD's I got for the holidays.

United 777 was awesome, and I'm halfway through the swiss 340. Still to watch is the JFK and Qatar airlines videos.

Has there bveen any talks of Ultra Long Haul routes? For example Singapore's EWR-SIN, or Thai has JFK-BKK. Basaiclly a 340-500 video? Thanks, keep the good work up.

1 more question! any chance of a re release of the austrian 330 video? Would love to see that. Thanks
