If you're flying a base POSKY model (meaning, no special cockpit add-on) all you need to do is press the keys on the NUM pad while you're in normal cockpit or virtual cockpit view. This will enable you to look back at your wings and engines (as if you were sitting in the front of the cabin. If you do have an extra cockpit add-on that doesn't allow you to use this funciton in the normal cockpit view, try it in the virtual cockpit view mode and it may work (depending on the download).

If you want the wingview as if you're actually sitting over or behind the wing, then you'll need to get an extra download from avsim and install it.

I'm not sure about MelJet, I've only used one of their models and that was many, many years ago.

Just search Avsim for something along the lines of "POSKY Wingview" and download the file for the aircraft you want. Then follow the included instructions.

Can you have these extra wingviews with a laptop? I've tried downloading a few but was unsuccessful

They've worked fine on my laptops. Most don't take anymore performance from your computer than other views.

There are a bunch of wingview options on avsim, the author is Brian Kolbuch and offers you 6 different views (3 per each side of the aircraft) - leading edge, over the wing and trailing edge. Just make sure you download the correct file for the aircraft you use, such as A320, B737, etc.

or you can do it yourself by going into the aircraft.cfg. here are the steps....

1)right click the aircraft.cfg and select open with notepad.
2)scroll down until you see a section titled VIEWS
3)all you need to mess with is the first number
4)if you want to have your view be either on or behind the wing select a number between 0 and -15
5)if you want a view of your engines/slats you shouldnt have to move it back too much, maybe just a few feet
6)exit the notepad and select the aircraft you changed the views for and go into virtual cockpit mode.

*this only works well if you dont use a virtual cockpit panel.
