Which 757 To Buy?

Mon Nov 23, 2009 7:38 pm

Which of the following payware products do you like best?

- Just Flight - 757 Captain
http://www.aerosoft.de/cgi-local/rd/....cgi?showd130!0,5356576750,10867_1

- Captain Sim - 757 Captain
http://www.captainsim.com/products/x757/

- Quality Wings The Ultimative 757 Collection
http://qwsim.com/index.php/home

I heared about a lot of bugs on one of the addons but can't remember which one it was. But it looks to me that the Just Flight product is a collection of all the 757 packages available from Captain Sim. Is that possible? The quality wings B757 has not been released yet but is to come soon. I'd like to get me one of these that is similar to PMDG products. To me good framrates and detailed aircraft systems are important as well as a good exteriour model. Last thing is given at all products I think.

Your thoughts are welcome! Maybe one of you guys owns two or three of the mentioned addons and can compare them.

Cheers

Stephan

Quoting Lufthansi (Thread starter):
Quality Wings The Ultimative 757 Collection

This isn't out yet, but it seems to have superior quality to the other 757 models you've mentioned.

I have the captain SIM and I personally would say wait for the other one to come out. The captain SIM had a lot of bugs and even when they fixed most of them it still isn't an airplane that I fly a lot. I have the Level D 767 and in theory they should be similar as the aircraft are but the level D is way better.

This might just be my sourness from having to deal with the bugs when Captain SIM was released but thats just what I have noticed.

I just looked at the Quality Wings website and I would definitely wait. I might even buy this one. Looks great.

Well until the QW 757 is released don't make your decision to buy Captain Sim. As MPDPilot said, it has a lot of bugs and it's a huge frame rate eater!

I also have the Captain Sim 757. Despite the 757 being my favourite aircraft in the real world, I just couldn't stand the Captaim Sim 757. Sure, it looks pretty but for me, it was far too buggy, and also an FPS hog.

Unfortunately I can't comment on any other 757 model for FS. But if you're looking for something similar to the 757 (in some ways at least) there's always the Level-D 767, which is an excellent model.

The best choices for the 757 model so far:

Level-D 767 (yes, I mean this)
.
.
PSS 757
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
CS 757

Wonder where will the QW bit hop in.

In that case I'll be looking for the Level D 767. I used to fly the PIC 767 years ago and was really happy with it. The QW 757 is supposed to be nice but without deeper system animation. That's no wonder because many guys from POSKY have worked on her. They're known for excellent models but not for cockpits or panels as I have to say in FS. As an a/c mechanic I'm intersted in keeping my knowledge up to date. And that will be easier with PMDG, Level-D, Wilco PIC etc. Maybe they plan an update for the QW 757. Their model really deserves some nice systems like on the other big payware houses.

Thank you all for your patience and shared experiences on that programs!

Cheers

I'm stupid. I thought... "WTF is this guy buying a 757, how would he even be able to get one"
But, now that my confusion and stupidity are standing by for another extremely obvious thing to work on, I think the QW is the best.

After looking at these Quality Wings videos, I have to say I'll pass on that one.
The Captain Sim version I'll never touch.

So the PSS 757, sold by Justflight, is the way to go for me.
In fact I have ordered it.
