Well, I don't think I've ever posted pictures of this airplane before...it's certainly no three-holer. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you THE FLYING FOREHEAD!!

Scenery is not real exciting, KDEN is in the middle of nowhere...  http://i719.photobucket.com/albums/ww199/xxdarkknight/LUFA380.jpg

Great cockpit shot! Looks like you're on short final to SFO.

Thanks. And SFO it is.

Quoting kevinl1011 (Reply 47):

Your system is awesome but what resolution are the screenshots?

1680x1050 which is my monitors native resolution.

I have anti-alias set at 8x, I could bump it up to 24x but it's overkill and barely noticeable. Though the good news is I can still get 60FPS with that setting most of the time.  But otherwise 8x is good enough for me.

It should also be worth mentioning that while I have two 4870 cards, FS only runs off of one. There's a program to force dual video cards in games but it makes FS crash. I get 400 FPS peaks if I take the limiter off anyways so one of these cards is more than enough
Quoting kevinl1011 (Reply 47):
I notice that even the shots I posted are fuzzier here than in my photo bucket.

Photobucket compresses the pics a lot.

I'm off to do some further tweaking of textures and what not, I'll come back with the results.

Seems my computer is working better now.

Notice the 747-SP09 in the background! Those are vortices coming from the wings in these stormy conditions. The Presidential 747s are also in the background.

Seems I didn't. Still crashes at Heathrow (Heathrow X). But nowhere else.

Here are a few more images with some silly whirly thing:

Flying over a busy airport.

And now it seems I have the problems sorted - down to a FSX.CFG setting that doesn't help very much. Even Heathrow is okay now.

http://www.totalnfs.net/c_d_files/engine_problem.jpg

One of the engines made a big bang on takeoff and there were flames coming from the back of it.  Wow!

Hi Gary, yes, it flies very well, and is worth the very high price.

Take a look around the Flightsimlabs forum (register first) and download the manuals for it, that'll give you an idea of what you are in for. I also recommend buying the ITVV Concorde twin-DVD set as additional learning material. That will cover at length the checklists and procedures that you will need to know in a manner that is easier to understand than a written manual.

You can use the virtual flight engineer for that stuff however, but I prefer to have control of those things myself.

It feels very realistic to fly. You can follow the ITVV Concorde DVD flights very closely.

Gosh - you still have one of those things that is working?!   Goes to show how long ago Messrs Rowland and Bricknell did that excellent presentation. Never did trust VHS much, they had a nasty habit of failing on me or someone would put in a dodgy cassette, and the whole thing would unravel inside the machine.

I can assure you that no Tile-Proxy was used. I don't have it installed. That's the MegasceneryX Hawaii.
10/10 for identifying REX!

Oh ok. Every time I see photoreal scenery I assume it's tileproxy

Speaking of REX I just installed it for FS9 but I'm severely disappointed with the WX engine. It is extremely inaccurate. It was showing rain in my home town yet it's been sunny all day    Obviously a glitch but after hours of scourging the web for a solution I could not find one. So I just left the REX HD textures installed and I'm using Activesky as my WX engine. Much more accurate, though sometimes you get some funky cloud formations, but I can deal with it. I'll post some pics eventually with that configuration.

Alright, time to get serious about this!

http://www.totalnfs.net/c_d_files/the_beach.jpg

I think I'm actually in that scenery taking photos at the airport!

In the foreground is General Holmes Drive (going under runway 16R/34L and the nearby taxiways), and the carpark beside the beach where most of the photos you see on this site at Sydney airport (from people like Mark Harris and I) are taken from.

I would like REALLY like a 727 though, can't find one for the life of me.

I remember back when I had FS2002 I found this insanely detailed 727 model, it even had spinning animated flap jack screws. It was a work of art. And free.

I seem to be having problems installing this aircraft. :/

Can you help me with the steps?

What I've been doing is unzipping it on my laptop, cutting and pasting to a flash drive, transferring to my FS PC, then cutting and pasting the aircraft folder into the correct aircraft folder in the FS9 directory.

The aircraft doesn't show up in the list in FS9.

Make sure you are transferring the immediate aircraft folder. In other words, if you have to go through more than one folder to get to the panels, textures, sound, etc folders, then you have one folder too many.

Absolutely sure it won't show up? Set the list to "any" and search one by one manually. I just hope you don't have too many planes.

And if none of the above works, then most likely the aircraft.cfg is screwed up, in which case it is complicated to fix not having your exact file or computer in my hands.

Thanks! Took me forever to get that configuration as I wanted.

Now I've tweaked it even more, I got the new ActiveSky Evolution WX engine. It seems to handle the REX textures much better. I'll post pics up later.

Aerdingus

Nice aircraft

Let me set you a challenge, same aircraft flving over some puffy clouds while the sun is setting. Needs to be a front 3/4 view and you will get extra points if you can capture the strobes!

How are you capturing? I'm using Fraps which let's you capture multiple images over a flight. Pretty sure other programs let you do that too.

First of all, thanks. I used the C-135FR which i found in flightsim.com, it has wingtip and center drogues. I used as mentioned before FS recorder to do that, and with a lot of skills, that should work out.

OK, so I finally found a texture configuration I'm really happy with: REX sky textures, with HDE cloud textures (best cirrus textures EVER), and WX controlled by ActiveSky Evolution. Superb
