Is that part of an LAX scenery add-on?

Yeah. It's done by the guy at Mach-1 Design Group, and available on AVSIM. Technically it's for FS9, but it works perfectly fine here, too.

Thought it was about time there was some Kiwi heavy metal on here. ANZ 744 taxiing out to LHR's Rwy 27R about to depart as NZ1 to AKL via LAX.

Well, I was going to fly an airline flight of some sort today, but that went on hold when I found that the PA A380 was available. What better place to start than Oshkosh? Here ya go:

It's funny that you should pick that airplane for Oshkosh...don't know if you went to EAA AirVenture 2009, but here's a picture of that airplane that I took when I was there last year:

I actually picked the house colors plane knowing full well it had been at OSH...but I didn't know that it was actually that exact airframe! Very cool!

How did you get the 2nd lower level and the upper level doors to open?

Here is SQ's big bird awaiting it's turn to depart SIN at dusk, with a Malaysian 738 on short final.

You know how Shift+E+2 opens the cargo doors on most planes (in this one's case it's Shift+Q)? That opens one of them, and Shift+E+3 on up opens others.

Never posted the second leg of the NZ1 LHR-LAX-AKL...here it is about to roll on Rwy 7L before the long haul over the Pacific. 12 hours almost completely over water. I p***ed off to bed and left Otto to handle the cruise!

Forgot about this shot of the inbound NZ1 at LAX having to go-around...

Was having a fool around last night and decided to try and land a CX A340-600 at Kai Tak in the middle of a typhoon! Stupid enough huh? Even more stupid was not getting screenshot of that very late turn onto final for Rwy13, well not so stupid considering the impact on the runway I made before bouncing up and doing a go around! Anyway decided to make an emergency landing at HKG with what was left of the 340.

See these regularly at CHC on their way south to the Antarctic. It's amazing watching it land on the shorter cross runway 29 when that's in use, even more amazing must be seeing one of these land on the ice down there.

Quite an airplane alright. I was lucky enough to see one at the Bray Airshow (how random!), great display, the crew were on their way back to the States. Does that A319 still fly to Antarctica? I think it went from Tasmania. Just amazes me to think of aircraft landing on that ice runway.

Thanks guys

Kevin, nope nothing purchased recently. Tha Kai Tak scenery is from FlyTampa and using REX for the clouds.
I think I set thunderstorm via FSX to get the cumulus and set a layer of status just below. Seemed to work out pretty good.

I'm actually pretty amazed at the fps I get with the Kai Tak scenery, no problems at all. Haven't mastered the 13 approach yet so like to stick to the 31 for easyness

Planning a flight today but to sure to where yet!

I meant to say that I had only tried the Flightcraft A346 just a couple of times. Your doing better than me if you can fly it...as I couldn't get my head around it
These days I fly the SMS A346...well I will when I get onto SimMarket and get all my previous purchases in order. Help me now. I didn't realise exactly how many addons I have bought in the past

Anyway, as mentioned....

Screenies best viewed in low lighted areas haha....

Rolling out from the left-hand seat.

Aircraft: CLS B747 classic series
Scenery used: UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme v2

Also a special mention to FSNightTime which helps to fix the cheap 'B' movie look to the night time in FS9.
For example on moonless nights, the only parts of the aircraft visible will be the areas illuminated. A big improvement, and adds to the realism I find.

Great shots, my friend. Those addons really help getting the most out of FS9, you've pretty much pushed the FS9 engines to the limit.   In the past I wasn't sure to stick with FS9 or go with FSX - I did the latter and everything is working OK, you just have to forget about 60 FPS (core2duo laptop).
How is that cls 747 working out for you?

Yeah I keep trying to see how far I can push it before it gets ridiculous. I had a Quad-Core cpu, but only a 9800GT gpu. However, with the processing power under 'the hood' i'd expect to be able to run FSX quite comfortably. However, alas it's not to be. I'm keeping FSX handy though when I finally get round to upgrading.

The 747 is a funny one. I've not tried out the INS that's available yet, but it's just a learning curve I guess. My shots were from just a quick fly about, as I had just re-installed it after locating the disk

Edit: I also wouldn't be without Active Camera these days. I've come too used to my view point bouncing around the place after a nice hard touchdown Big grin

Your doing better than me if you can fly it...as I couldn't get my head around it

Thanks, it did take me a while to figure everything out!

Beautiful 747 pics.

I have a Sony laptop with c2d 2.4Ghz, 4Gb Ram and 9600GT M...far from a dream setup, but it does the job pretty well, considering all the extra addons (REX, ASE, additional sceneries,nHancer) and 1920x1080 resolution. If I decide to postpone PPL license, then a i7 with a monster GPU is next on my list...gotta have it
Stock FSX 747 is enough for me ATM, was going to try PMDG's version but quickly realised it's too complicated from cold & dark onwards.
Active camera and Ezdock are nice things, but I'm looking towards the TrackIR stuff...so when you land, you can slam the poor head of yours and really feel it - visually and through big neck pain the next day. That's what I call hardcore

Your comments are so very true, and so very much WIN.

So all I'm flying at the moment is the CLS 747. Finally just completed an LH 742 flight, from IAD to FRA...

Lifting off. The effects of FSNightTime are quite apparent here. Almost total darkness.
Interesting thing about this shot actually. Right after I screencapped it...the aircraft started rocking and rolling whilst my GPWS was screaming "WINDSHEAR! WINDSHEAR!" at me. Thankfully, we got through it

This next shot is to show how effective the program is...I love it...

Can't really get much more real than that.

Anyhow...apologies for straining your eyes so much today

Onwards with the flight...

Thanks again

Generally, POSKY models come with no VC and use default panels. However, I did find a panel over at flightsim (2D panel, that is) and it looks like this:

Nice shots Batman...love the classic '47s.

However, i've been having CTD and OOM problems with the CLS 747. I've tried to locate various things, but I can't seem to find a solution. I recently installed UT Europe, but this was happening before I installed it anyway (plus my latest crash was off the coast of Canada).
I know UT has memory leak problems, but i've since rectified those and it's been fine without aircraft since then. It's funny because i've had problems with the CLS 747 before with random CTD (usually after about 5-6 hours in flight which is very annoying). I'll grab the service packs from the CLS website anyhow (as I purchased it a while back now) and see if that improves things.
