How Big Is Your FS Fleet?

Mon Jul 19, 2010 6:50 pm

Hi, everyone. I was looking through my FSX "fleet" recently and noticed I had a lot of airplanes, and wondered if what I had was more or less than most people. So, I thought it would be fun to find out how many other people have, and compare our collections.

I currently have 150 airplanes in my fleet.

Hmmm my wife always tells me size doesn't matter, but I don't think she is talking about Flight Simulator!

If you are talking a/c types then i think I'm around the 75 mark. I nevr really consider myself that fascinated with a/c types in FS except for types and carrier I have actually flown on. My real interest is in scenery for airports.

What's weird, ediCHC, is that I am pretty much the opposite! I could care less about scenery but spend hours downloading new aircraft to test out. I'm currently assembling a FedEx/UPS fleet as I type, and I try to get every plane from different companies.

Then....what else could she be referring to?

Your poor wife. She's an FS widow.

I saw a FedEx 727 @ KONT the other day. Probably the only 7-two's still flying regularly in the USA.
Have you found a UPS DC-8?

The only have the full fleet of 2 carriers, NZ and SQ. Thinking about the NZ fleet, I wonder if there is another carrier out there with as big a range of seating capacity as NZ? They range from the 19 seat Beech 1900D up to the 744.

I only have...

Airbus.
A318 ACJ (to do my own private flights)
A319. Entire LH Italia fleet (painted by me) and the entire LX A319 fleet (painted by me too)
A320. Entire LX fleet (painted by me)
A321. yep you guessed... entire LX fleet.
A330. only a couple of LX regs (I don´t do long hauls)
A340. 4 LX regs.
A380. 1 AF and 1 SQ (will soon include the entire SQ fleet of A380) PA A380 rocks!

Boeings. I have some in the Hangar... don´t use them at the moment.
Embraers. Idem.

I only do LX flights on FS, I like their routes and my freez ZRH scenery, and because the ZRH airport website gives you the exact reg of the plane operating a certain flight... I can then replicate it on FS... yes I am THAT anal...

I'm too lazy to actually count, but I don't have that many. I'd have more, but I can't get AI traffic to work, so I just have whatever I can fly. I probably have around 50 individual planes.

Marc

EDIT: To clarify, I do have what AI traffic came with the program. it's the downloadable stuff I can't get to work.

IIRC last time I cleaned up flightsim I counted about 1650 folders in the aircraft main folder, most of them are for AI aircraft but also many AI boats, cars (usually airport traffic) and lots of helo's, I must have at least 25000 texture folders in them , probably even a lot more since many of my WOAI AI aircraft folders have over 100 repaints in them.

Flyable planes I must have at least have 500 of them, most payware and the best made freeware stuff, only the real good ones I use lately
eg, PMDG all models , WILCO panels with overland Airbuses (merged) , Feelthere 777 merged with POSKY 777 for better visual effects, Carenado, Captain Sim hercules and 707, but also the venavionez turbocommander, the Maule and much much more ..... .

Lets not even begin about the rest of this "game", I spend more time expanding it and making it as real as possible than actually fly with it, it is installed on a dedicated computer , has never been reinstalled since january 2009 (the beginning of this computer) and has grown to a healthy 289GB by now, still virtually trouble-free.

It's more some kind of therapy to destress from work than a real game.

Hey All,

I guess my FSX fleet is quite simple...

PMDG B74X & MD11X and any American or European livery which is ‘good’ (no visual defects etc).

I must admit most of the active fleet is the MD11

I'm kind of a freak, with a BIG collection of freeware, as well as a pretty big collection of payware airplanes. All together, the total number is around 225, give or take...
