Velocity Models - New 1/400 Diecast Start Up

Wed Feb 18, 2015 1:19 pm

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone else has bought one of the new releases from the new 1/400 company 'Velocity Models'? I just bought my easyJet A320WL. Really hoping that they are good quality, and hoping they get a UK/EU retailer soon as the postage cost me $16.75 alone. www.velocitymodels.com

I wouldn't get to excited about these models. I heard the government and the airlines are getting after this company for lack of licensing for the livery's present on these models. So they may not be around very long.

I ordered the JetBlue and the Frontier models though.

I ordered the Jet Blue, and Volaris A320S.
From what I understand from the website I purchased them from , it's a division of Aero Classics which make very high quality, detailed specific diecast models in 1:400 scale.
If they didn't have the licensing, I don't think the company I purchase from, would be selling them .They are a few dollars more than the typical Aero Classics models.

I can tell you emphatically these models ARE NOT licensed.
The whole thing is completely underhanded and devious.
The owner of the company stole proprietary information while he worked
at GeminiJets and used it to start this company.
He funded it by selling stolen models on Ebay. His business address is a Post office box
rental at a UPS store. If this company is still in business by the summer time, it will be a big surprise.
As PT Barnum said, there is a sucker born every minute.

I bought an easyJet A320 from them, nice model, but I think they appear to be disappearing. Their website seems to be down most of the time.

The owners name is James Byrd. He is ex-GJ and wanted to have a fling at his own line.

Surprised to hear his products are not licensed.
