2015 Summer Screenshots

Wed May 13, 2015 9:29 pm

Hey everyone, let's keep it going. It certainly is no longer winter, so I figured a new thread was appropriate. The lighting in this pic of me buzzing around in my F-16 reminded me of summer. We had some excellent posts in the last thread so let's keep up the good work!

It is in the southern hemisphere. That is why I think these threads should be named
Flightsim screenshots part 1, 2, 3.... since when it's summer up here it's winter down
there (and vice verse).

Anyway that F16 screen is very nice.

You are EXACTLY right. Wow, I guess I just didn't think about how A.net is made up of people from all over the globe. My apologies. Maybe we should call this "Flight Sim Screenshots May-June-July-August"...

Imo, there is no need to have "seasonal" threads. Call it part 1 and keep it open until it becomes
too long then just start new thread called part 2.

Love that NZ livery, for my first B789 flight I got the All Blacks livery. Was a nice find when I got to the gate. Last night I added in my last cargo operator into my SYD AI rebuild, now all I need is the FlyTampa SYD release. Last night I did buy three new sceneries from FTX, Melbourne, Brisnane and Perth. Deciding on if I want to download and install them tonight or since my GTA V download from Steam finally fished early this morning (after 26 hours or so to download due to slow DSL) I may install that and mess with that tonight.

Uh oh, I might not get too much time in FSX for a while. Since my GTA V download finished, I fired that game up last night and I lost two hours of the night 'just like that'! I am already looking forward to getting of work and playing it tonight. Not only does FSX run like a champ on my new laptop, but GTA V runs so smooth. Just cannot believe that I can get this kind of performance out of a laptop. But since I was last installing AI traffic for Melbourne, I might install that new scenery that I bought and so some virtual spotting.

Lately I've been tired of flying to the same (payware) airports over and over, so I wanted to fly elsewhere, i.e. to default airports. Problem was that the scenery around these airports is pretty dull. Well, I dished out $76 and bought FTX Global - amazing! The best add-on I've bought in a long time!

I haven't done a real flight yet - I'm waiting until I get a new rig in a couple months (I've always been playing FSX on a laptop, never even considered a desktop till recently    ). Here are some pics I've taken so far.

Nice screenshots. I haven't fired up FSX in a while, my last flying was actually in GTA V when I was trying to steal the P-996 "LAZER" aircraft from the airbase....trying was the keyword there. For some reason the military does not like it when you try to steal one of their jets and I met a few SAMs. The one time I got away from the base, the plane suffered a mechanical issue from too many bullets and I had to eject out before I could land it and park it at my hangar.

Not my screenshot, but this is what the plane looks like.

I do not use FRAPS to record anything on my home PC, but at work I use a program, I do not think it is an official program from MS but from one of their devs, called Screen Recorder. I use it when I am testing defects and errors and find it easier to record a video for the devs than taking massive amounts of screenshots. We use Windows 8.1 at work and the program saves into a .wmv video. Program is Screenrecorder and the developer is Burak Uysaler.

I use FSRecorder. You can't use it to make YouTube videos, but if you just want to replay your landing while in the sim, you can. It doesn't work on Windows 8.1 until you apply this fix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmUZxf1RLTg

That is lightning in both pictures. I was flying using real time weather (REX) out of DEN. In real life, the airport would obviously have been in a ground stop.

Great pics UltimateDelta! I see you play around with AI based on that LH retro 747-8 pic. I've been replacing the models in UT2 with ones in new liveries; it really boosts the realism.

Hmm something ain't right with this picture or rather too much right perhaps?

If you see that a lot then that would mean that there is a problem with the aircraft's flight dynamics (aircraft.cfg and the xxxxxx.air) files. Also within the first 10-15 minutes you may see a lof of odd things as the sim engine is loading in the AI and not always in the right way too.

This was the first time that I saw something like this. Possibly a conflict between
FSX, UT2 and and AI-controller.

Last weekend in SYD it was cool and rainy and the underground train station near my house was closed for repairs, so that meant I got some flying time. Here are some shots from MEL-HBA operating with the HJG B717-200.

At the (wrong) gate at MEL, I started up in the JQ gates. I really need to open up ADE and find the gates to start off from.

Waiting for one of the few planes at MEL that is smaller than the B712. A ZL SF34 on very short final.

On for HBA

Only my second flight in years, and this landing shows it. I came in a little to fast and hot. (insert "thats what she said" The Office joke here)

Man, those shots are great. Especially the first three. Wow!! I have been super busy and haven't had any time for FS. I'm still trying to figure out what the best option is for a FRAPS type replacement for Win 8.1...

Keep these awesome shots coming everyone!

Apparently my MSI laptop came with a program called MSI Afterburner which allows you to capture screenshots. So, here is my WONDERFUL Flight1 King Air B200 getting pushed back at MMMX (Mexico City)...
