Can't speak for PER as it's been 3 or 4 years since I was last there and things might have changed. As for SYD if you want to get close to the action the mound is the best with aircraft taxiing to and from 16L/34R right in front of you and you will also get all the action from 16R/34L the only problem with this spot is some inconvenient light poles but you'll still get good shots like this;

Yes, it certainly was shot in Sydney, taken from the steps at the end of the roadway between the Virgin and Qantas domestic terminals.

Wow...why was Lufthansa in Sydney? The only spot I have been to is by the fence at the beach. Will keep your recommendations for when I visit next.

I would caution those uploading recent photos of planes from airports to consider not doing so as "spotting" or "plane photography" is not an acceptable reason for breaking the law. You are not supposed to be outside.
I'm not sure what else can be done to stop it. I wouldn't be surprised if Police are looking at some of these sites and ready to hand out fines for those violating the lockdown.
