Sharpening advice.

Sat Jan 26, 2019 9:16 am

Hello I'm asking on sharpening advice for photos. Now I use a 70D and recently I got a 70-200 and I started uploading at bigger sizes. Actually I have a lot of things that I don't understand or cope with in therms of sharpening. I like photos to be sharp but sometimes I get rejects. I make them look really soft but still not enough. I know that none of the pictures are similar but I use the following settings:
Unsharp Mask:
Sharpening: around 90
Radious: 0.4-0.5
Treshold: 3
Then I erase with the gum the oversharpened areas using 35% or 15% opacity. This flow worked really nice but theese days the quality standards grew and It seems that my pictures are not really getting in. I don't have a clear picture now, but I'm here to learn something new to improve and upload better photos. For me it's fine if I make them 1280px, or maybe some specials at 1600px.
I can't talk about particular images but I can share links to some of my images which were rejected or accepted. I'm looking forward for your advices how to improve my sharpening skills!

Here are some photos for example but you can check more.

Hi, the first one (LOT) looks slightly high in frame and maybe a bit too yellow, but besides that I think it`s okay. It`s more my personal opinion, don`t think this is worth a rejection. Pegasus looks good to me (perhaps tiny bit high in frame). The LOT Embraer looks good to me, not sure if it hurts to give a slightly more contrast. The last two I can not open the link.
