Reuploading a Photo

Thu May 09, 2019 6:48 pm

Is it possible to replace a photo with another one taken only a few seconds later but showing a better angle?

I think you would need to ask for the photo to be deleted and then upload the new photo to the normal screening queue. As far as I know the reupload function is to replace an existing photo with a re-edit of the same photo.

One of the head screeners should be able to confirm.

I rejected your reupload earlier today and wrote that it's not the same photo. So no, it needs to be the same photo. We don't generally delete photos so people can upload another one from the sequence, otherwise we would be swamped with such requests. That's why we always ask that you upload the best one/one you like most from a particular sequence.

Yeah, that’s why I created a new topic to see if there’s a case where this can be denied.

To be honest, I hadn’t read the photo acceptance guide thoroughly, thus didn’t know about the double rule when uploading. I had planned to upload 3 photos (all of which were taken in the same sequence), but after uploading the second one, it was rejected. I deeply regret not uploading a better photo. That was very rare to see an Iranian Air Force 747 on that day.

Anyway, thanks for the replies.

I reuploaded a photo on 7/22. It was accepted, but the file was not updated. I reuploaded it again a day later, again, it was accepted, but again, the file was not updated.

In addition, I changed the watermark position, but it was not updated.

Could anyone help me, please?

By the way, I should have created this topic in the Site Related section. Is it possible to move this topic from Aviation Photography to Site Related?

It appears that there are technical issues in the photo reupload functionality. We have reported them to the development team and are currently waiting to hear back from them.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

No problem at all, Miguel!

I believe those 2 specific photos have problems: I reuploaded another photo earlier today and it was accepted. The file was also updated in the database.

Thanks to you and Kas for reporting! Also, thanks to the website maintenance for fixing the problems.
