In the right environment and with good composition skills, that camera could certainly take a.net-worthy photos. With that camera, you'll want a sunny day and you'll want to take a picture of the side of the aircraft facing the sunlight whenever possible. You'll also need to be positioned rather closely to the aircraft. As with any photographer, you'll need an editing software to reduce blur or haze, etc. Those can be free.

Generally, no, because of the limitations... unless you only shoot static or taxiing aircraft. Go for a basic DSLR or mirrorless camera.

It is not true. Look here pictures taken with bridge apparatus are very good, not only static, and in motion when landing or taking off.
Not to consider advertising on another site, but here I saw many pictures taken with compact cameras / bridge

- Sony DSC H 400 & Nicon Colpix B500 https://www.airplane-pictures.net/photo ... _timestamp

- Panasonic DMC-FZ50 https://www.airplane-pictures.net/photo ... _timestamp

And Nikon P900 & P610 but no find photographers now

Which is why I said, "Generally". I never said it was impossible to take good images with a bridge camera; it's just much easier with a DSLR or CSC, and the results will be of better quality.

If you want to shoot aircraft, the best tool for the job is a DSLR or CSC. That IS true. Period.

The Sony RX10 series (especially the latest model) is perfectly capable of doing action, continuous AF and drive. It uses the a9's high-speed shutter and on-sensor AF, just in a smaller sensor. It has an excellent lens that performs very well at 600mm equivalent.

The only gotchas are the motorized zoom (it's not very fast) and the fact that the camera can't change focus while zooming. Otherwise it's got all the whiz-bangs and performance of the professional full frame bodies. It's also pretty spendy. But it's very discreet, which is definitely handy in our world where supertelephotos get the side-eye.

The Panasonic Lumix bridge cameras are also very capable.
