Beginner photographer here!

I want to find my style as a photographer and be able to take good pictures. Besides the basic “practice everyday”— what other things should I be practicing and or researching ? What have you found useful in your journey?

I am mostly interested in fashion/nature/street photography but I’m opened to experimenting with other types. I also am stumped on composing shots to make them more interesting.

No need to pigeonhole yourself into a "style". Don't even worry about it - just keep taking shots and gradually you'll realize what you like and what you don't like.

Trust me, it's not something that comes naturally to all of us. If I'm out shooting, say on a hike or something, at least half my shots will not be worth a second glance, and another 25% will be "eh, could have done that better".

Things that look really interesting in real life can look pretty boring in a photo, and vice versa.

Obviously, make sure you learn the technical side - shutter speed / aperture / ISO, and such. It will make your life easier. I also recommend shooting full-manual when you're ready; that's a great learning experience in itself.

The last part of this response is the most true. I'm studying media and i can tell from my experience, that full-manual provides you with the best learning curve when you're ready for it. Until then try everything you can get your hands on. The technicalities are very important but also where you get your inspiration from. Follow sites or artists that do a lot of different stuff and you'll find your own preferations eventually along the way.
