News banner neglected?

Fri Dec 18, 2020 4:29 am

All,

I did bring this up in another thread but I feel it now requires its own.

Lately I've noticed a few new airlines/liveries/new types for airlines go totally unreported on the news banner, while at least two aircraft with temporary and relatively small decals were straight on there. There have also been all white frames getting inclusions, because they are for new operators.

I understand that the crew here are volunteers but surely the news banner is one of the most important draws of the site for viewers? I like to see new stuff and I check the banner every few days.

I refer to my most recent upload which features a brand new airline - I've never been concerned with views but I'd be being disingenuous if I claimed they don't in some way motivate photographers. If there's scant reward for those who bring firsts to the site then uploaders might be less inclined to make sure he effort - and if viewers can't immediately get their photo news via the front page will they not possibly go elsewhere?

Thanks,
Karl

Another one missed on the banner yesterday/today:

A new or one-off special livery.

And yet this is deemed banner worthy?

How is "Contour bought a new airplane" news worthy?

It does appear to be the first 145 in the newer livery — just badly worded on the banner.

That's mostly Emb135, not 145.

It is. As dutchspotter says, they are 135s in your link.
