Not technically a photography question, but an issue with scanning slides.
I've been having colour aberrations on high contrast zones lately. The image below shows. If the scan requires a lot of editing, like to fix the blue cast on the DC10 below, then these aberrations completely ruin the photo.
My scanner is a Nikon Coolscan V ED. I bought it around 2005 and scanned thousands, but I find the same (or similar) aberrations on my oldest scans too.
Google gives me explanations, but no solutions... .
Is there a way to not have those aberrations in scans? Is there a way to better deal with them while editing?
I'm a bit at a loss here.
Btw, I scan with Vuescan software and edit with Gimp and Photoshop Elements. Basically, I toggle levels and brightness to get colour right.
