It occurred to me while shooting aircraft super-wide-angle last night that a tilt & shift lens could possibly eliminate some of the distortion we see when photographing large airlines from very close quarters. In theory it should reduce bowing and keep the subject in better proportion but I've no experience with T&S lenses. I imagine it'll only work with front three-quarter shots rather than near-side-ons but before I go spending a grand on a new lens I'd be interested to know if anyone's tried it or has theories about how (in)effective it would be?
