Hi Folks,
Getting a upgrade from Canon sx-70hs, been thinking about a preowned Sony aps-c or full frame, an amateur for aviation photographing of military and commercial aircrafts.
Would you recommend a a6600 or a7r2/3 given mostly day time shoot for future travel after Covid for landscapes and milkyway.

If it's mostly for daytime, APS-C is fine. The crop sensor should help you get a bit more reach from your lenses, plus there are a lot more entry-level budget lens options that cannot be used on full frame bodies.

Full Frame is where the weight of the market is going. The a6600 is a perfectly fine camera, but the a7 mark 4 is due pretty soo. The a7III is still good, but its replacement is likely to land around summertime.

It depends on your need I would say. As hoons90 mentions if you take daytime photos most of the time, APSC would be a nice choice for spotting aircraft, but FF do can provide much better quality photos. IMO, I would use Sony FF like A7 iii and its replacement A7 IV since I am also considering to record some videos as well, A7 iii can provide better and more comprehensive performance on videos, and it also can balance photo to some degree.

A6600, is fast, outstanding autofocus performance, big battery, and lighter than most ff cameras. At lower ISO the noise difference between them is not so high, as most people think.
