One good thing about the pandemic is that i took up plane spotting. I've been spotting with a hand-me-down Nikon D3200 with 55-300mm F4.5-5.6 and i think it's due an upgrade. My budget is 1500$ and would ideally stick to Nikon but open to buy other brands as well (if I'm getting much more value than Nikon at the same price point). After some research I've narrowed down to D500. Do you guys think if it's worth it in 2021 or should i just go for cheaper D7500 or other brands/models?
Both have the same dynamic range. Both are crop sensor DSLR's, while the D500 is a prosumer with beefier specs, the D7500 at $500 less will work just the same for aviation. Check B&H's used section. A quick look I found this D500 with less than 2,000 shutter clicks for $1227. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/ ... _body.html
Both are capable bodies. IMO, lenses play a larger role in image quality unless you are looking to do a lot of low/no light photography where you need the best sensor money can buy.
