Help with screen brightness?

Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:46 pm

Hi everyone, I got my hands on a 2020 M1 MacBook Air. I'm trying to edit my photos, but I can't seem to find the correct screen brightness to edit with. I don't have a calibration tool. Can anyone help me figure out what settings work best?

Without a tool, it's going to be difficult to get accurate results. I use an i1 display profiler, and set my monitor to 100 nits. In general, you're probably going to want to turn it down from the default settings. Most monitors are overly bright. I know there are some phone apps that measure brightness, and that might get you in the ballpark, but I'd seriously think about investing in a profiling device.
