Lightroom causing battery drain.

Hi everyone! I got a 2020 M1 MacBook Air, and I was blown away by the battery life...until I installed and used Lightroom. The first day, I chalked it up to being caused by the set up process, and importing tonnes of photos. The second day (today) I noticed my battery was falling at the rate of 1% every 90-120 seconds. Is this normal? I was told to edit on the highest screen brightness setting possible, and that only makes the battery life worse. What can I do to fix these issues?

are you closing the program fully if you aren't using it?

Yup! I really only notice the drain while editing.

Is this the newer Lightroom (optimised for m1) or the older one?
Doing some searches I definitely see lots of complaints. I do have Lightroom and a Mac but unfortunately I have a desktop server Mac so can’t recreate what you experience.

I'm pretty sure it's the optimised version, do you know where I can confirm that? I'm seeing quite a few complaints as well, maybe that's something to be expected? I came from using a desktop, so seeing the numbers fall that fast was alarming to say the least. Now I'm slowly getting used to the fact that editing is something that I can't really do on the go, away from a power source.
