It is with sadness I have learn that James was critically injured in a 3 vehicle crash on a major Sydney highway at about 8.50am last Saturday not far from his home. James did not survive the injuries sustained in the accident.

James was a young a.net member, a photography contributor to this site ( https://www.airliners.net/user/jbaxt61/profile/photos ). VH-JTB also had a number of photos on Flickr ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/132439531@N02/ )

James was an aviation nut from a young age, he was vice-captain of Aviation State High School in Brisbane city, with interests in aviation photography and flying. He had moved to Sydney from Brisbane to work to work at Swissport, he was due to move back to Brisbane this week. James had worked at Swissport to fund his PPL and CPL licences.

“ A man has been critically injured following a three-vehicle crash in Colyton. Shortly after 8.50 am yesterday (Saturday 30 April 2022), emergency services were called to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Melbourne Street, Colyton, after reports a Dodge sedan, Subaru hatch, and a Toyota van had crashed.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and located the three vehicles in the right-hand turning lane, westbound on the Great Western Highway. The driver of the hatchback – a 25-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Nepean Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the van – a 31-year-old man – was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing, but has since been released. The driver of the sedan – a 35-year-old man – was submitted to a roadside breath test, producing a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to St Mary’s Police Station and subjected to a breath analysis, which allegedly produced a positive result of 0.074. The man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – driving manner dangerous, driving with a low range prescribed concentration of alcohol, and negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm). This wasn’t far from where I live. There are a lot of accidents on that road sadly. A friend of mine nearly lost his life on the same road but further along at Girraween - innocent victim of street racers.

RIP.
