Upgrading from a Canon 20D…..

Thu Jan 12, 2023 12:32 am

So I’m debating a new camera but why splurge if the 17 year old camera works, right? That said, I may rent a Canon R6 to shoot video and stills to see if it’s worth the upgrade.

Honestly, looking at a few videos on YouTube, it’s a LOT more camera to go from a 20D to R6 and I’m trying to see, for a guy who pulls the canon out 3-4x/year, does it make sense.

Has anyone else made such a huge leap in tech? Any thoughts?

I got my old Nikon D200 still alive :-)
Did not even look for the mirrorless system perhaps I am an old school guy.
What I know for sure that I better spend my money for travelling.

If you're happy taking photos with what you have then just keep on using it.... My main camera is a Nikon D800 but also love shooting with my D200 and D700.... I also recently acquired a very low shutter count D70.... Mirrorless? Even though I could easily afford to switch I'm more than happy with what I have...

Good to see you upgrading Mario. I would give Joe Pries a message he shoots Canon and can give you some advice.

I loved my D200, The Z6 is nuts though and I love it. My back up is D500 which I think the 200 was better.
