The 5200 is available in Australia. I have recently purchased the HP 5300 a 1200dpi scanner. The default scan of 150 dpi will work with closeup photos of top quality. For the majority of my photos I use 600 dpi .This may change as I become more proficient with the scanner. I then use Photoshop and save at 70% which produces a file of about 1.5 Mb. The aim is to reduce the file size. Success rate of photo acceptance very good but I dont claim that these settings and combination s are the only ones .Best of luck.
