Well the time has come that I plan another day at MAN for photography.
This time I am going there with new methodys of photography in my head from what advice I have been given from people in this forum. Also with more knowledge of setting out a decent photo and not just point and shoot.
What would be cool is if any MAN regular who reads these forums could meet up with me there, and if they are a photographer give me more advice, actually talking to someone is a great way of improving ones self as it sticks in the head. Thats what I think anyway.
But overall it would be nice to see someone who is like myself in a way. Instead of having to either walk around an airport on my own or risk being aproached every two seconds by some one who wants to know what the registration of a small cessna was that parked up at the other side of the apron.
Out of my expiriences of visiting airports MAN comes bottom of the league in openess. At MAN no1 chats to you or starts conversation, gets really boring when you are on your own, no scanner, just you, your camera, binoculars and a logbook. LHR is just the same, when i first went there was just me and this guy all day, i heard him speak once, thats when I asked does he regularly go to LHR. You would have thought that a person from Sheffield, on boxing day, would have got some sort of conversation going with the regulars. Then the second time I went with friends, I wasnt going through the episode of speachlessness all day. Then comes EMA, while me and a friend was driving up from London to my house in South Yorkshire we nipped to EMA. Just for an hour or two. We went to the viewing area and within 10 minutes we was talking to a fellow aviation photographer, and kept talking until we had to make a move.....enough of my little stories....
Come on MAN spotters or photographers, show yourself and show you are not all grumpy boring old sods! (Sorry but thats all I can say with my past expiriences, hope I have not offended anyone).....any replys welcome!
