Comments Needed On These Photos

Wed Mar 13, 2002 11:44 am

These are a few pictures I’ve taken @ my local airport, something I can no longer do, and they seem to be the really only good ones out of the four rolls. Before I even consider uploading them and wasting everyone’s time, I figure I need some feedback. I’m only interested in the three American Eagle pictures. You can ignore the COEX ATR-42, that one comes from a different roll.

For anyone who remembers my thread about the national guardsman and his M-16, these were taken @ the same airport, in the same place, only a week earlier. The same idiot saw me taking them and didn’t even care. One week later he pulled his M-16 on me after this old b*tch went inside and tattled on me. I’m waiting on a few things before I deal with the airport officials again. They’re still convinced I broke Federal law and that the FAA outlawed airport photography “After Sept. 11".

Thx in advance,

Eric,

Despite advising us to ignore the COEX ATR, that has to be my favourite. Granted it is a little soft and a tad grainy, however the composition with Kyle Field as a backdrop is spot on.

As for the others, well, while technically good, imo, they just don't have the same impact as the COEX has. Try something diffrent, go for a unique angle or perspective.

Personally, if I get some time off (seems that I am on the road more than home lately), I would not mind driving on up to College Station soon (M-16 tote'n Rambo wannbes be damned), and get some pics with Kyle as a backdrop.

Eric, you are on the right track, however my advice is to try some more creative and unique compositions.

Good luck,

Thomas

The CO mini ATR looks the best. I really do like the background labelling "KYLE FIELD"

Those other shots of eagle are also nice but you can like what Tom had said, widen your composition and creativity. Even if this damm airport is now out of ur reach. YOu can always practise these on taking pictures of pretty/hot looking girls in your school or institution..  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I tried it, And it works wonders, the girls who see the picts love it, and I love it and I know that I accomplised something. I apply these to planes except they are larger, stinkier, and move freaking fast..  Smile
Works 90 percent of the time.

I should have made this point but I was talking to someone as I was posting the first message. I'm not to worried about aesthetic value but about quality. Most of my pictures still come out very strange looking.
(BTW, the COEX ATR-42 was rejected for "low aesthetic value".)

If I take pictures of aircraft on landing or takeoff, the scan is very blue. If I adjust it with the software, it looks like I'm starting @ the picture through a long tunnel. There will be a circle area in the middle that is bright but the rest will be much darker. Also, all non-ground shots are always "soft and fuzzy" looking. I've changed lenses and it didn't help. The only thing I can figure it the camera has a problem but why does it only effect certain shots? It is really becoming a serious pain in my butt.

B75...

There are plenty of Aggies at 1600 Smith that would enjoy a nice print of Kyle Field. Now if just happens to have a COEx plane in it, all the better. I like it.
