I Really Liked This Picture...

Mon Aug 26, 2002 9:49 am

but it got rejected  Sad

A tough subject, because of the departure time and the sun. And the lack of places to spot at SEA.

Mabye it's because of the hillock blocking the lower half of the body.

Hi!
Indeed a nice picture, but the tough subject (for acceptance here of course not for the photo being taken) is the lack of the undercarriage.

Peter - I'd say also that its slightly underexposed, and so its slightly unsharp (check the rego.). Of course... the missing undercarriage and slight part of the belly is a bit annoying.

Great indeed, but it would have been excellent if you took the whole belly and the gears. This would have been possible if you stepped feets ahead !!!

Yep, just what everyone else says, you missed the belly! But great photo otherwise!

I didn't "miss the belly"  Smile

I was standing on a huge earthmover when I snapped this picture. I was about 100 feet below the runway...

I thought that's where the secret site was!

Seriously though, I don't think a.net would ever accept a picture with so much hidden. A shame, since its very good light which is essential for SAS machines. Believe me, its even hard work in Europe!

Looking forward to more of those from "around the sound"

"A tough subject, because of the departure time and the sun. And the lack of places to spot at SEA."

A common frustration for photographers is getting rejected for a shot that was damn difficult to get! But there is no "difficulty factor" involved in the screening process - its a.net material or it isn't. Sadly, what is difficult at SEA may be very easy elsewhere, and plenty of good shots of this aircraft exist.

The only fudge factor the screeners employ is on those shots of historic interest or rare shots which we believe unlikely to be obtained in higher quality.

Cheers,

Colin

Good call...It shouldn't be accepted, and the reason is obvious. There is no argument.
