Photo Editing Program

Wed Oct 15, 2003 11:05 am

What do you think the best photo editing program is for an amateur photographer. I need a program to sharpen and edit images.

Photoshop Elements or Elements II are outstanding programs that can do everything you need to have photos accepted here. They are reasonably priced and come bundled with most new scanners and digital cameras.

Elements II was selling at Costco for about $60.00 as opposed to full blown Photoshop which is up around $700. Yikes!

When I started, I saw there were two choices, paint shop pro or photoshop.

The two packages will do basically the same thing but I find photoshop will update the entire photo being processed opposed to a small preview in paint shop pro.

The Abode (photoshop) site offers a 'try before you buy' option which is well worth doing before parting with any cash - I think it works for a month which is plenty of time to decide.

Best of luck

I use Photoshop 7, a very good photo editing program, although I am pretty sure Elements does everything you will need it to

Hello

I find that Photoshop 7 is a very good photo editing program. If you however just want to sharpen, level, crop and fix colours then Elements will do a good job.

I am using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 9 which I find excellent.
It has to be one of the easiest programs to use when it come to photo editing.
I give it two thumbs up!

I use Elements and it is a great program. This program can do whatever you need to get shots on this site (granted the original image is good). Go for it.
