Sony P72

Sun Apr 11, 2004 7:34 pm

Has anyone taken photos with this camera that have been accepted on a.net?

I have tried a few times without success, guess it just doesn't have what it takes to come up with the goods.

Do a search on A.Net for P72.

I hear a military jet going past! I will hold the nerve to run outside and look. oh that roar sounds nice

Oh yah, here are my photos.

I live in the Northern Suburbs.

That picture was an error, I don't know why - if you look at the bottom of the actual image, you can see it is copyrighted to somebody else.

I do hear those military jets go over heaps of times, also heaps of GA heading towards the coast. I also get the daily flights to and from Asia, such as KUL, SIN, BKK, HKG etc.

Thanks

I have this camera and it's perfect for what I use it for; I have also brought it along with me when flying and these pictures were accepted:

It has 3x optical zoom and 3.1 megapixels. It's not one of those cameras that will allow you to take shots like some of the ones in editors choice, but hey, I don't need or want a $1000 camera at this time so it's perfect for me. But I didn't say that one wasn't on my 10 year plan. Big grin

Some very nice photos there. Any tips? What modes do you use? Do you use the viewfinder for added stability or the LCD screen?

Thanks.

Also, Sean you're one of the many people here that are from Perth, and you own the same camera as me!! Bingo!

I usually just leave it in auto and it does a good job. I take the pictures using the screen since it's a more accurate representation of what the picture is going to look like once it is downloaded.

Dont you find that if you use the viewfinder, and put it up to your face the camera doesn't woble as much, thus making the image not as shaky?

thanks for the above replies. i reckon ive taken a few ok photos but got "badscan".

i did that search and found quite a few photos with p72. might have to try and enhance it a bit more in photoshop.

i tend to use the lcd to shoot as long as i am not too hungover my hands remain quite steady! also a couple of times using the viewfinder my photos have ended up with that nasty grey wire fence in the pic, whereas using the screen i can see exactly what the pic will look like.
