Got Your "Photographers" Shirt?

Tue Apr 13, 2004 5:11 am

I was talking to a fellow photographer and he was telling me about a shirt that he had made. It was a bright yellow T-shirt with the word Photographer in large black letters. Below it was the silhouette of a 747. He had it on the front and back. He said in several cases it seemed to help as far as not being bothered while he was shooting. Has anyone else tried something like that?

If you notice, the photographer is hanging on to a Canon EF1200 f5.6 L. Any bets on the body?  Big grin

I was actually thinking of this. Good idea!! The same image on the back would be better, maybe bigger.

Shanks: This is the 'Photographer's Store', not the 'Airliners.net Store'. The link to the Photog store is at the bottom of the initial upload page, while the actual A.net store is on the front page.

Have...err...fun...with the thong.

Why don't they print all that stuff on the back of the shirt? That's the side that's facing the cops! If they make one with printing on the back I will buy one.

Is there a way we could get that shirt and have a photo (or two) on the back, to show what av. photography is all about??? I've actually always wanted a shirt with my "work" on it and that seems like the perfect shirt to start with...

Maybe airliners.net could offer a new shirt with a design that is more visible?

I have an idea that they can think of. Car visor so they can see it from another car-A COP CAR could see it! with the logo on it.

Well... I designed the "Photographer" shirt and to answer the lens question, it was intended to be a non-specific telephoto. But it is white.  Big grin

As for new designs, I did these as bumper stickers over a year ago:

And I still think we should use "Spot, the Planespotting Dog."  Big grin

Well, these are your shirts and if you'd like me to change the text or add anything, just let me know. I would be happy to move most graphics to the back if that is what most of you want?

As for other graphics, I can add them to photographer shirts if they are sent to me in high quality and that I am given the right to use them freely.

Johan

William: Didn't realize you designed those logos. They're awesome. Job WELL done!  Wink/being sarcastic

Johan: For the 'Photographer' shirt, I think the large logo would be best on the back, and maybe just a little thing that says 'Airliners.net'--no fancy pictures or details--over the left breast. That would ROCK...great Hanukkah present.  Laugh out loud

Also, you better make this into a bumper sticker...

So now you're saying I have to bug my parents for that sticker paper. Sheesh!

For Johan: I think, as others have expressed, we need a nice-looking shirt that has "Airline Photographer" on the back in somewhat larger letters than the current set of a.net shirts. It needs to be tastefully done...not gigantic letters screaming out the message, but large enough for someone driving close to us to see and understand.

I know I need one and would buy two or three.

Johan,
it needs to say "AVIATION PHOTOGRAPHER" as there are many people on this site that shoot more than just Airliners.

For those that wish to buy the
Airliner Photography is not a crime

The man who sells those is Bryant Pettit. He is the NICEST guy you could ever meet. I have bought a ton of t-shirts from him at the various airliner shows through the years.

I'm going to the LAX Intl. Show so I'll get one of those, there.

Johan,

I would suggest having the shirts available in black color as well. Or maybe have a pulldown menu with selection of colors for your shirt.

GREAT THREAD! I am going to try to make those bumper stickers ASAP! Brilliant way for us to become a unified force out there in the trenches!

Johan, dude, I think you ought to make this thread one of those Red flaming folders.

As far as I can tell, this has to be the one priceless form of solidarity that this forum can exhibit and I beleive that the more of us out there with those shirts, the more understanding out hobby might attain!

great thread! thanks dcjet, Joe, Futt and all.

I am jsut blown away, this is what we need!
