When you travel on 772's where do you find the best place to take window shots from??? In-front of the wing, behind the wing, on the wing???

Can you actually request a cabin section at check in? Doesn't this depend on your ticket-class (people with cheap tickets generally end up in the back)?
Anyway... In flight, you can just use the windows in the doors to take pictures through. In front of the wing, behind the wing, in between, whatever.
You have more space there too (if you use the 100-400 while in your seat the person in the seat next to you will not be happy as you'll be sitting on his lap ). Don't think they'll let you walk all the way up into business class though.

Yep i have, i was and i have a place i like but i have only flown on them twice since being into aviation photography and i wanted to hear other peoples opinions.

In response to the post by LGW, UA are a great airline.
You can pre-book your seats when you book your ticket.
I have now flown United over 50 times and have always requested a window seat when booking my ticket. They haven't let me down yet.

How much you pay for your ticket.....the booking class must be too low , ineligible to a upgrade or 35 pitch Economy Plus section.
Too bad...hope you give UA another try....but really if you fly BA or VS coach, you expect more????

Cheers all for the reply, currently i am prebooked on AA 772's with seats 34J+k both ways, wanted to get the 2 seat part of the config so my gf is happy. Hopefully they should be ok as well as using the door windows!

It only takes one bad experience to lose a customer for ever... And yes you would get better service from VS. We win awards for our customer service. I dont ever see UA in the top 3 airlines for any award...But VS...

Thats a very kind offer, it's much appreciated and I will drop you a line if I ever fly UA again.
I have flown VS twice and I would say that they are a great airline, service, comfort, food, aircraft etc all fantastic.
Another thing to add about my love for UA is that all the seat back TVs' had grey covers over them on both my flights which meant no seat back entertainment...booo

I'd definitely fly UA rather than VS trans-Atlantic - and yes, UA did upgrade me to J last time I flew long haul with them.
Ckw was correct on this matter - best place to sit for photos in ANY airplane is on the flightdeck!

But I pretty much made up my mind. I will ONLY fly UA for the rest of my life on those routes served by them
And I contribute over 30000 dollars a year, yep I am happy the way I got treated! Still have 8 SWU and 44 x500 miles regional upgrade + 10 regional confirmed to use by end of 2004
The double mileage and complimentary upgrade on UA is a real winner! Your body comfort always go first before the service, which UA can be surprisingly good too!
Finally if anyone fly UA 777, if you want a engine shot Row 13 is best, that is Business class. Row 8 or 9 is best for forward wing and engine shot! Again most good engine shot on 777 will be in Business cabin.
