I have booked my trip to LAX using my Rapid Reward Ticket on Southwest Airlines. I will be staying in the same room with Tommy and Phil. So if I can come up with the money for other stuff It will be a defnite go for me. So lets hope I can make this.

What other stuff? Unless you have to buy a camera or something, what more do you need outside of the flight and hotel? If y'all need a rental car, you three can ride with me. If you need food...

Just FYI, 3* on Priceline (Embassy Suites, Raddison, or similar) is something like $55 all-in for your very own room. If nothing else, maybe you can use that to bargain down the price.  Big grin

Hope you can make it.

Sorted in priority order:
- AeroCalifornia DC-9
- Hawaiian B767
- Northwest B757-300
- ATA B757-300
- Air New Zeland B767 or B747
- Delta Connection (Skywest) CRJ

Those are my main goals. Anything else will be like a bonus.

Andrew M, just wanted to say nice first shot for A.net. Anyone out there have their first shot as a top of the day? I knew I should have driven to LAX last night, and now I am kicking myself for not doing it.  banghead  In one shot you already have twice the number of total views that I do, and I have 100 photos!

You see, I have pictures of almost entire FL fleet (including JetConnect CRJs operated by Air Wisconsin). The only type from FL I don't have is A320 from last year.
I forgot to say that I'm also in huge need of America West B737-300 and Mesa CRJs 700/900.
Do I have any chance catching at LAX Delta's 737-300s?

Is there any specific meeting place/time for this event, or are we going to just 'bump' into each other? I've only been spotting at LAX once, but I remember it being a rather large area to explore.

The tour is unofficial, will take you around the Training Center & show you the various training devices.

As for time, I will let the group decide, the group is going to meet with Dacman at 0800 for the spotting, perhaps we can start the tour at/or around 0700 & ask Dacman to delay the LAX spotting adventure to 0900...

If you live in Van Nuys, you can stop by the Training Center anytime, just let me know in advance...

If you want to book a simulator, I will need to know by 06-October..... Right now, I have a MD11 Instructor working on 08-October.....

The website doesn't got into much detail. Can you provide any more information or a link to somebody's 'trip report' about this? Thanks-in-advance!

Here is a link to somebody that booked a simulator ride:

I will start building/simulator tours at 0700, on 08-October, Saturday if anybody wants a tour, just send me an email at [email protected], so that I have an idea how many people to expect.

It might snow up here in Winnipeg on Wednesday, so I'm heading down to LAX. Expect to see me there on Oct 8th.

So let's get an update. Who's going, what day, what place, and what time?

Three times I tried to go spotting with Phil, three times the weather sucked! I thought I should warn you all, guys. You might want to try to keep Phil as far away as possible from the airport, maybe find him a nice latino looking girl so he doesn't spoil the day for you all!  Big grin

I am green with envy, you know?

Cheers

If I decide to show up, I'll be sure to bring my old photo albums (I have not taken any pictures since 2001) and offer [re]prints for whoever wants.

Look for the bald headed guy (maybe wearing a Western hat) driving the burgundy Ford Mustang Cobra convertible.

I should be there along with a few others. My first time in California, I'm looking forward to it! See you on Imperial Hill (well..I guess..)

Cheers!
