Which Of Your Photo's Has Had Most Exposure?

Fri Feb 24, 2006 4:22 am

Just wondering which one of your photo's has had the most exposure (excluding a.net). I mean one that has gone in print or any other form of media?

Used by NetJets Europe, Dassault Aviation and Flightaware.com.

It's printed in the 2006 Dassault Aviation calendar, printed as 5,000 posters for Dassault, used by NetJets in customer newsletters and marketing and last but not least on flightaware.com somewhere on their website.

I'm quite happy with that I think.  Smile

Nice shot Florian. I love that backdrop at Innsbruck. Guess mine has to be this oldie. A case of air rage en route to Goa which ended up in one of the tabloid sunday newspapers.

I haven't sold/distributed very many shots in my 'career' as an airplane photographer, but I think these shots got most exposure... They'll probably fade into nothingness compared to some other photographers on Airliners.net.

Oops... It says "one" in the original post. Then I have to go for:

Without a doubt this photo of mine shot for Bombardier Aerospace has been used the most. It's on posters, numerous magazne covers, brochures, wall murals and even was reproduced on a mouse pad given out by Bombardier.

It's also one of my personal favourites of the many I shot for Bombardier. It's also the luckiest. Look closely and the exposure (1/250th) captured the flash of the tail strobe. Pure fluke, but it just adds to the shot, especially at large sizes.

Oh and FYI, it was shot from the tail gunners turret on a B-25 Mitchel Bomber, glass removed.

Shot with a Hasselblad on 2-1/4" Fujichrome Velvia RVP50. Virtually grainless.

While not the greatest quality on earth, we were the first to capture the Kitty Hawk 737. We got this image during the delivery flight, the aircraft was just arriving from overseas. This photo has been sold numerous times and appears in:
Airways Magazine
Flight International Magazine
Cargo Facts Magazine
Several online aviation news sites

We also printed it in 48"x36" on gatorboard, and it is on display at the FAA headquarters in DFW, and another 48"x36" print is on display in the Kitty Hawk headquarters lobby. It is also in the 2006 Kitty Hawk calendar.

Woot!  bigthumbsup

This one for an employee promotion for Daalderop in the Netherlands. Something with vendors winning a flight in a Cessna! Big grin I was curious and had to ask why exactly a business in the Netherlands wanted an overview of TUL!

This shot caught the attention of Airliners World, who then asked me if I had others from the same day. I sent another of Air Force One (one which a.net had rejected) and they liked it better...and used it to lead an article about AF1.

I was informed as well it appeared on CNN in some form, but not sure if that is true or not.

That's a great shot Tom, you shold pay more attention...This cheesy shot of mine was used by CNN without my permission and I called them on it to the tune of $500 bucks. They couldn't wait to pay me so I wouldn't "take it any further.."

This one which is not even of a plane! Not that many views (12337) but not too bad either. It was my second upload, taken with a Sony F-505V. The fasten seatbelt sign was still on, but the flight attendant saw I was desperate to get to the right side of the plane and allowed me.
