Other St Maarten Like Spots

There were some pics awhile back from a spot that was similar to St Maarten but I want to say it was in Portugal or some place in that area. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Any help would be great.

ACE is very similar to SXM. The beach however is not as nice and the planes aren't as low. ACE is located on the island of Lanzarote which is part of the Canary Islands.

Phuket is somewhat similar (based on some of the photos I've seen).
