I'd say my shot of the year is my very first acceptance! I got in for the first time on September 10 with this one-

It was the 1st day I found this location and I had to leave quickly after taking this shot. I can still remember my heart pumping as I ran off hoping I captured a good one. I was only there long enough to shoot this 1 pic. It is a good memory  Smile

Happy shooting to all in the new year!

It's nice when you find "that spot" isn't it? I trekked all over the area surrounding DCA to grab just the motive I was looking for. Getting a good result when you find it is a great feeling, regardless of acceptance here.

No special picture but special for me because it was taken in not so good light and pictures an unique aircraft. I'm glad I caught it.

Making the perfect exposure of "Lone Star One" has been a goal of mine since I started this hobby. I can't imagine any better way to capture this gorgeous plane... Got it at my home airport, incredible wingtip vortices, anddd nice evening light. Here's to 2006, a great year!

It doesn't show an airplane, so it won't get on, but I took this onboard a Piper and consider it my best shot ever.

Although I didn't get out this year as much as I have in the past, I did manage a few beauty's (in my book).

I'll have to give my top shot of the year to this one. It was recently published in Vertical Magazine (jan-feb07) and although it's not my most popular shot it never tires me to look at it. The lighting, coloring, and detail came out just perfect.

Not a technically great shot, and the weather was poor, but I was elated to catch the "Spirit of Delta" arriving at Boston with flag flying proud. I've been enamoured with this airplane for many years, and have been a passenger on it on several occasions. Only fitting, then, that I should make the 120-mile drive up to Boston to catch its arrival.

Not good enough for a.net but this is my favourite because of the aircraft. I don't have the chance of going to EZE often so I was very happy to spot this 727
btw, is there anything I could do to make it a.net standard?

I was lucky enough to clear this sweet looking bird for takeoff as it made it's final flight ever. This particular Tomcat was going to be retired at Palmdale, CA.

I'm going to pick this one because it was my first acceptance with my new DSLR. I'm not 3 of 4 with it, which makes me quite happy. I've learned a whole deal since I got the DSLR so this shot is special because it shows where I've come to in my photography.

I have an overview of SDU airport that for me is one of the best photo I ever take (light conditions and other factors helped a lot). But since it is not in the DB (still in the queue) I choose this one (bellow) as the best of this year.

I tought I was really luck to make this shot, since my former 300D was with problems in the AF mode so I had to use for some months MF and took some time to get used to manually focus again. When we were turning finals I saw the sun over the bay and pray to the shot gets with focus... And it did  Smile  Smile

I missed the first opportunity to shoot it - at the "Belgian Defence Days 2006" - when it was first shown to the public  Sad ...

At the end of a "Fouga-photoshoot" (on invitation by Col. M. Minne) at Beauvechain AFB during October, however, I noticed this Starfighter - my all-time favorite aircraft - together with a Mirage 5, on a dispersal. Lighting conditions were not the best anymore at the end of the day, but since you don't get the chance too often to visit the AFB, I decided to give it a try ... and I felt very lucky when it got accepted!

Happy 2007!!  champagne
