Hello,
Anybody ever see this. Photographed with a 600mm Canon and a 2x.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y255/Tappanmg/new757.jpg I photographed this in Boston during a morning rwy 9 departure.
Any thoughts,
Thanks

I think I remember Javibi posting a shot a lot like the one you have taken. It was a 737 or A32x side on in the desert IIRC and it had huge reflection, almost like it was on water. It was in a thread about heat haze a while ago. Cool effect though.

Very nice shot by the way! But yeah this happens..
The lens your using is it the EF600mm? and with 2x that's over 1200mm, then you will certainly see this type of heat haze 'magnified' as you are shooting through more air.
Thanks guys... alas, it was rejected. I don't think I will ever have any luck using a 2x because of how it makes things slightly soft in focus...Except of course the moon silhouetts..

p.s Ya think if I sharpened it.....? But what about the grain??
Heat haze is generally NOT good, so I usually just watch planes during the worst hours, but sometimes you can get nice shots anyway.
This shot will not make it on to Anet for all the rejection reasons in the book, but nice nevertheless. This looks like a water runway, so this Ryan 737 should have had floats
will be there soon to finally teach you how to take excellent marginal shots, in the meantime you gotta check your e-maill....will be sending something over!
