I know it's backlit but I like the reflection on the fuselage as well as the sun illuminating the blades of the engines.
The big question is: shoud I give it a try?

Should I Give This Shot A Try?

Well, you're starting off with a tough shot because the majority of the fuselage is back-lit. Right now as you have edited it, I think you might have an oversharpened rejection; I can see some jaggies around the fuselage windows and elsewhere. I'd try more selective sharpening. The sky seems to have a bit of grain in it to me, but I don't think it's bad enough to warrant a rejection on that alone. Also, the contrast might be a touch too high - the nose seems blown out to me.
Centering these types of shots has always given me trouble, but I personally think you've done pretty well there. Overall, it's a nice a shot! With a few adjustments, I think it stands a decent chance of getting accepted..

Ok great...I still have the original so I can try to sharpen it less and reduce the contrast just a bit.

I can't really tell from the combination of small image and crappy screen(Compaq tablet) that I am using but Hey!
Rework any sharpening issues etc and submit there are only 2 possible outcomes and neither are fatal!!
Give it a go!

Softer and still to SMALL. We can't help if the shot isn't the size required for the site.

The shot you linked to is only 800 pixels wide. A picture 1024 pixels wide would be correct, as you say, but picture you show is not that size.

I personally think that the first one is closer to an acceptance more than the latter. The latter I think is way to soft on my LCD so screener's viewing it on their CRT's will most likely go the soft reject.
Just what I reckon though.

With all due respect, the displayed size has nothing to do with this forum,
Your photobucket account or settings is limiting the displayed size to 800px wide and until you can display them at an Anet standard size i.e 1024px wide no one here can give you any meaningful assistance
