Hi Matthew,

well, as stated in the rejection mail the picture is too soft. Just apply some more sharpening on the helicopter and you should be fine.

Good luck!

Are you sure? I can see this one being rejected for centre, too. It's too low in the frame.

Yes, to include the whole skyscraper in the background; a valid reason imo.

I see your point, but this ugly thing doesn't do anything for me, and it ain't aviation related. But I'll say it's something that can be talked about... I think the better solution would've been to zoom out and include the rotor blades.

Your camera setting appear fine - everyone has to sharpen their images in Photoshop (or similar) in order to get them accepted here. Just apply more USM.

Very very nice shot Matt!

I think centering is not your problem, but it seems like it needs a slight amount of clockwise rotation.

Anyway, really hope you get the photo accepted, it's cool!

Exactly what I thought. I haven't checked properly but I do however think that it may be just an illusion, as the verticals I have scrutinised look straight.

A very nice shot ! needs only a bit more sharpen with CS2 / CS3 and it's fine !

Just make atention to avoid a oversharpen or jaggies over the grey lines of the c/s.

G'day Matthew --

I'll tread lightly because I assume most of us are protective of our art and I don't know the circumstances of your shooting location.

The most obvious problem to my eyes is the rotor assembly confused with the skyscrapers. I'd have preferred to see a simpler (i.e., water only) background. Less is more. Climb up on your mate's shoulders?  Wink

Regards,
Dave
