2nd Rejection (contrast, Noise) - Need Help

Wed Sep 10, 2008 7:15 pm

Hello everybody,
need your help on this photo:
https://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r...Patrouille_de_France_MAKS-2007.jpg
First time it was rejected for contrast and noise, so I did levels adjustment to enhance contrast and run noise reduction tool. But it was rejected again for the same reasons and "reupload" was added. Now I understand that I should have included a comment to screeners about my enhancements, but I did not. So what do you think? Should I now try to appeal or there are still problems with this photo?
First version that was rejected is here:

Looking at it now I fully agree with screeners.

Hi,

I do not see any obvious grain in the second one, but now it looks dark, and there is still not a lot of contrast. The white looks more gray, even in the first photo. I think the basic issue is that the lighting was not in your favor.

Agree. The screen I'm on is too forgiving for noise so I won't comment on that. Contrast is still too little, and I think this is partly caused by a colour issue which in turn is caused by less-than-ideal light.

Thank you for your replies,

The light was really not good there - I was shooting into the sun. So no chances of accepting? I do not see any ways to improve the quality any more...
