I have this picture rejected with centered reason. I know I have a little tail high, but the nose is centered and some screeners prefer this way to center the frame. The problem is that if I surely low the tail to another screener will say me this looks low.

I would like some help to correct and re-uploaded the picture or if is worth appeal.

Post-capture processing will normally help, however I'm afraid all these have serious quality issues which I doubt can be corrected.

Once again guys, feedback on these edits I did for a friend (were at the bottom of last pre-screen thread and will therefore now not be scrutinised) - different to my normnal workflow so I was worried about any softness.

By this do you mean crop tighter? The plane's left WT was not in the pic, so I cropped the other one out to center it a bit more.

Karl, I gave feedback on the Finnair in the other thread. The SAS is possibly ever so slightly soft on the front section of the fuselage, but those SAS titles are pain to photograph.

I have just uploaded this but I think it is too big... can anybody give me some advice on 'big' picture sizes. This one is 1600x1200... what size should I be aiming for?

Dale,

1600's OK but best to use 1024x683 as this will hide any tiny quality issues.

Nice shot, although I'd tone down the brightness (highlights look a bit washy) and give it a kick of contrast.

US Airways

No chance - there is a ground vehicle obstructing the nose-gear and it seems to be the wrong size.

Northwest

Nice shot but bad crop (not centered properly), wrong upload size and appears to need slight CCW rotation.

Wing shot

Just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. Boring; not much to look at and there's a curious streak top-right, about 3cm from the edge of the frame. Also wrong size.

Midwest

Possible but I'd crop closer in on the nose right-hand side. Also looks slightly soft on my monitor.

I just took this one. I can't get the plane vertical centered since the crop (1024*683) touches the edge of the picture. Does the former Fokker factory with the Fokker planes still justify the shown crop ?

I'd accept the crop, but then again, I'm no screener. Front edge of vertical stabiliser and winglets look jaggy though.

I appealed the first picture post up in this thread (B-737 Europe Airpost) and the picture was accepted. Now, I think is the same problem.

I would like some opinion. I think this is more a different screeners criteria that a really incorrect picture.

Made a couple of changes to bring this one into the accepted dimensions, rather than a 'panoramic' shot of the entire aircraft and wingspan, and sorted out the sharpness to reduce the 'jaggies' on the company name

Uploaded this one for the 3rd time, was rejected for over-sharpening the first and softness the second time, I think I've struck the right balance this time though. If it gets in it will be my first shot, after that I'll have an idea of what level of sharpness the screeners are after.

The planes shape looks fine, its just the angle that makes it seem weird, both look over exposed to me.

Was that photoshoped to look like that or is the lighting natural/artificial sources?

Could be creative enough to merit, however the crop is weird (why crop the nose?) and would probably prevent it from an upload.

My view is that the aircraft in the background is soft and too dull.
Motive: I think that may be a problem. you have two aircraft in the frame and really niether of them are showing anything close to a.net standards and quality.

I like the picture and really don't see the harm in leaving it in the queue. Why would a person be worried about leaving pictures in the queue?

Anyway, I would say pull it, but don't go solo on my advise; i have no photos here yet.

Your second picture, I can't see any issues with except the left wing is croped too much and is cut off. Other than that, it's the only thing i can think of that would give you a rejection.

Your first photo, if it wasn't for that stupid fense, the picture would be great. I think the fense is what's going to get it rejected. Because other than the fense, the picture is great.

Other than those two issues with your pictures, I would say their ready.

Well next to all the rejections I have a question concerning my last two uploads. I didn't receive a rejection nor did they show up in the database. Both cases would have caused an email that should have arrived as usual. Non of my settings changed and so my email adress didn't. I choosed to upload them to a.net and myaviation.net. So I can show you the links to my pics which were published on the sister site of a.net.

both cases it is quality I can say I think the photo of D-HDAC could make to Airliners if you resize it to 1024x683 and some sharpening

Why are you not going closer to the right wing? The left wing is closely cropped, yet there is a good inch from the tip to the end of the photo on the right. Totally off balance.
