I've been very fortunate to get my fair share of rainbow shots lately, the weather being
so awful up here this year, but this one grabs me.

Questions, If I may.

How much did you make off of Air Berlin, if you don't mind me asking? Nice picture, I am assuming it was more than a few bucks.

Second, how did you get ramp acsess at JFK. Know someone internally? My friend works on air side at YWG and I can't get through. ??

Thanks, and great picture. The A330 is truely an amazing aircraft.

Luke

I made far less than I could have. It was my first sale, so I didn't want to be too ambitious, and through what I believe was a deliberate miscommunication on their part, they ended up getting full, unlimited usage rights for very, very, very cheap. I don't really want to disclose the exact price, but it was well under 400 dollars.

I have ramp access at JFK through a personal contact. I will not and cannot give his or her for threat of losing their trust me and for risk of their losing their access. But yes, I have a contact.

Yup, I think it was $40 or so for the Bell... which was well worth it for the little 5 min flight. They had three of them running pretty much nonstop every day of the show. Decent little fundraiser, for sure.

It was my first trip out to LA, and for how short it was, things could not have gone any better. Perfect weather, great planes, and an amazing SoCal atmosphere. These shots were something that I had in mind for a long time before the trip. Sometimes things just come together...

Thanks to Jon Guidone and Nate Lentocha for a fun weekend, and to Joey Collura for the 10-20!

My favourite for 2008 would be Qantas A380 visit to AKL. First A380 to visit NZ and probable the only time a Qantas A380 will come here.

Not so hard in my case, only had 2 accepted so far this year.
This shot is probably my favourite of all time, and only the second outing with the 50D+70-200 2.8L IS. Coming from 20 years of Minolta it's hard to adapt to Canon, but I am loving what I get and learning by the day Big grin
Hoping to multiply my number of accepted shots by at least 5 next year!

This year has been a far more productive year than 2007 but I have only uploaded two images that were taken this year, I really should upload more I guess but all my worthwhile shots are uploaded to my personal site.

It's a toss up between a Titan 737 at LHR and an AF 777 at LHR, and I'm going for the T7.

Since we are in the waning days of 2008, I thought it would
interesting to see ONE from your collection of 2008 ANET pictures
that defined the year for you! A explanation why alongside it would be
nice too.

The choice is extremely easy for me and explained rather quickly: this is the only shot I uploaded this year.  Big grin

Another picture of a heavy over Maho Beach, but what makes it special for me is the action of the people in the photo. The man on his knees taking a picture of his wife/grilfriend pretending to have wings, the girl sun bathing and generally being oblivious to what was happening, and the other photog taking his shot. That's what makes this picture special to me.

2008 has been a fantastic year for me, three photos on the front page within two months, quite a few trips for fun and plenty of photography. You'd think one of my favorite photos from this year would be one that made the front page, but I am very partial to this one..

A combination of elements make this photograph my favorite. I've got it as my background and love seeing it. Quite a rare aircraft on its own let alone two of them departing within two hours of each other at an airport everybody seems to be pulling out of!

Here's to 2009!

This one is probably my favorite from 2008, just barely made it before the end of the year. I like it not so much for the photographic quality which is far from perfect, but for the motive and the beginning of a new era. It also earned me a spot in the "top of last 24 hours" spot on the home page.
