Quoting StealthZ (Reply 48): I'll tell you what has changed... There is a post in this thread and one in the Pre & Post screening thread from NIKV69 that I agree with almost in their entirety! Tell me when that ever happened before!! |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 47): All of the above mentioned made this forum more a playground / battlefield than a fun area. |
Quoting Spencer (Reply 49): Bring back Jeff M I say! Always good for a giggle and told it like it was! |
Quoting JeffM (Reply 51): LOL... thanks.... I just can't get a post to stick... |

Quoting CaliSam (Reply 50): The entire process from start to finish to beginners is screaming "YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR A.NET, THIS SITE IS FOR ELITIST PHOTOGRAPHERS ONLY, THANK YOU". |
Quoting NIKV69 (Reply 52): Though I learned a great deal from Jeff's posts critiqing pics here it was hard to get past his brash, aloof style and similiar doom and gloom propaganda we got from Peter. It was this approach that led to people feeling like CaliSam in reply 50. I felt it a little myself from not only Peter and Jeff but others both here and in person. My advice to CaliSam is to just ignore it because once you do and see the good out there you get much further along |
Quoting Granit (Reply 6): Hi all Well I thought I would add my tuppence worth. I only have one person to nominate for the best photographer. He doesn't upload to Airliners any more and the few shots he has on this site do not do his work justice. Having met him in person, he really is a nice guy. His shot's actually persuaded me to visit Hong Kong twice and Singapore Changi once. Fantastic angles, great colours, great aircraft and the best photographer ever to have shot at Kai Tak. His name is Andrew Hunt. If you ever come across his work I am sure you will be impressed because I was. I you see this Andrew, keep up the good work and I might see you hanging around Changi sometime (and in better weather!) Regards Gary Watt Aberdeen, Scotland |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 53): It tells a lot about a person being the first one putting a name into a negative context and formulating it like all others would think the same despite its only a personal opinion |
Quoting [email protected] (Reply 53): Nuff said about this being no more fun |
Quoting TimdeGroot (Reply 57): Here is another classic thread |
Quote: Perfect lighting, which seems to be of little concern for the average shooter |
Quoting Whisperjet (Reply 25): the screening team is doing it's very best to be as subjective as possible. |
Quoting Samuel32 (Reply 35): - Maybe not only post complaint in here? |
Quoting Spencer (Reply 45): There is one other way of looking at this and that is this, if you want a good thread then start one! |

Quoting JakTrax (Reply 74): I've had quite a big-hitting picture uploaded this evening and it's already nearing 500 views. |
Quoting JakTrax (Reply 74): Are views the same but people just aren't bothering with the albums? Are people not creating new albums any more, or not adding to existing ones? |

Quoting Viv (Reply 73): The forum lives because people of many different interests come to it - no, we are not all the same in our interests. Some are primarily photographers with a side interest in aviation, others are primarily "spotters" - whether or not their main interest is in collecting "sets" - registrations, all the aircraft of a particular airline, etc. - who use photography as a means to an end without knowing, or wanting to know, too much about the technical or artistic sides of photography. There are many "sub-types". Me, I have been interested in aircraft for longer than I can remember, and have been a photographer for many years - aviation photography is only a small part of my photography. Too often, people in the forum denigrate others whose interests do not coincide with theirs - photographers belittle spotters and vice versa. Some criticise "artistic" shots, others want the aircraft registration to be visible in every shot, and so on. THERE IS ROOM HERE FOR EVERYONE! Let us stop criticising those who are different from ourselves. Variety brings richness to the forum and we can all learn from each other. |
